Perfect for storing pickled vegetables, preserved berries or other tasty things from nature's pantry, as well as dry goods like pasta, granola, tea or yummy biscuits.

The airtight seal helps food retain its flavor and aroma longer.

Easy to clean thanks to glass, which also does not absorb odors or discolor from tomato sauce, etc. Transparent, so nothing is forgotten and left behind.

The jar can also be used as a serving bowl - or as a storage container, helping you keep things organized throughout the home.

I did a test with some tortilla chips in my screw-on glass jar and this IKEA jar, and the chips in the IKEA jar stayed fresh weeks later while the others got stale. I am replacing all my other storage containers with these IKEA jars. I just wish they made some wider and bigger glass jars for items like chips.5

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other homemade treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavor and since the jars are made of glass, you can easily see what’s inside, increasing the chance that food gets eaten and not thrown away.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
