    Selina Kyle/Catwoman, did not go through her marriage with Bruce/Batman, and she decides to get some distance between herself and Gotham. When a doppelganger is posing as her and framing her for stuff she did not do, what will Selina do?

    This was a nice start after the wedding that wasn't and get to explore Selina's world and get exposition on her feelings over what occurs.

    As the cover said I picked this up after reading Batman 50, though not as in your face as I wanted you CAN see how the outcome of Batman 50 affects Selina.

    Selina Kyle is out on the town, and so is her costumed counterpart, a for-hire cat burglar pulling heists in Catwoman's name.

    Aside from this first issue's teasing cover, there is only one other reference to Selina Kyle's almost-wedding to Bruce Wayne, whom she jilted in Batman #50, released on the same date as her own new title.

    As a reader, I felt used by the Batman-proposes-to-Catwoman storyline, now that I've read the wedding issue. It seemed to me to have been nothing more than a plot device to generate reader interest in Catwoman's new solo series.

    As a stand-alone effort, this first Catwoman issue was okay, but it did not leave me wanting more.

    The same could be said of Batman #50.

    Clearly the build up to #50 was just a way to squeeze more money from fans. There is nothing special here: the art and story our so-so. This turn of events turned my excitement for a new Catwoman series to huuuge disappointment instantly and the blurb to start this entire new series is very misleading. DC, Tom King, and Jones will not be getting another dime from me.
