Functions as advertised and expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for an equivalent docking station type connector for a macbook pro (limited ports, just two type C). Sales person recommended this one with multiple and different slots. Allowed to connect a monitor and USB devices and audio out (albeit another cable from mac audio out was needed to connect it - wished the type C connector would have taken care of this as well! It performed for the last month or so without any problem. Wished the top was not as sleek and the two indentations on the top were better and with friction in order to easier position and hold the mac on it. Was worried to keep the mac on it since it was afraid it might slide off. However, I quickly found out the device gets hot and I would recommend keeping the mac on it - I would advise to keep them separate. One could purchase a couple of different dongles (costing about $60 to 70) but would not get the features and different ports on this one ($95). I wished I was able to connect more than one monitor since the ports are available but see manufacturers comment on this. Overall, happy with it and it does what is indented to do!

Great makeshift docking station for the house
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This docking station was perfect for mimicking the set up that I have at my job for my home office. I now have plenty of USB ports for all my peripheral devices and can utilize two small TVs with HDMI connections as monitors. Price was reasonable and this does not take up much space on the desk.

Very good and necessary accessory for MacBook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is pricier than some of the other docking hubs that are available, but it's worth the extra money as it includes three USB 3.0 ports, SACD and micro-SACD card slots, HDMI, Ethernet, and even a VGA port in case you've got a legacy monitor or projector laying around. Also, one of the USB ports has fast charging for your phone, and the dock passes through power to your laptop from the charger. Other docs have fewer USB ports and lack HDMI and Ethernet, and my experience is that if you have problems with your home Internet service, tech support will ask you to hook up to your router with a cable, so even if you don't use Ethernet normally, it's a handy thing to have.

Good product but not compatible with my laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this alongside a Samsung Notebook 9 Pro but had to eventually return the product. While it worked fine with my laptop's charger, the power output from the adapter was not compatible with my laptop. That issue aside, it is a compact adapter that has all the common ports you would typically need.

USB-C Dock
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice dock-using it with a MacBook Pro and a Windows laptop. Easy to hook up and plenty of ports and easy to switch laptops. Only downside is I need to buy another power supply since it doesn't come with one, but I knew that before I purchased it.

Works well for my Apple Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was forced to buy this device when the new computer I bought did not have any input jacks on it. I had another type at first. It had no pig tail. My computer cover would not work. This type of docking station allows space for my protective computer jacket to fit. When I carry it, I can lay it on top of the computer. I sure wish I could have just bought the big Apple laptop that had all of this already in it. Too much money. This device works well and does the job.

Better than most, not quite a 1 cable solution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has all of the ports I need. Do wish they would add a display cable port instead of VGA? As other reviewers note, it gets warm, but has yet to be an issue for me. I obsessed over getting drivers and settings right trying to make it a one cable solution. Constantly had display problems with second and third display (I'm using with a laptop). I finally gave up on the one cable idea and now use regular powered USBc cable for laptop power, and this hub in another USB-c input for everything else. Works great this way. No issues. Based on my experience and other reviews, I have a feeling that this single cable display issue is with the PC' sand Macs, and not this device. I had a very noticeable LAN speed increase vs my old USB-3 hub. If you're ok with plugging in two USB C cables for multiple display use, it's a great option.

Exactly what I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love that this is portable and has all of the ports I would need to hook my laptop to monitors and such. I like how sleek it is and that my laptop can rest in the divots probably... it was a little expensive but I think it was well worth it!

Q: QuestionI see that this will allow to connect multiple displays. Can it also work FROM a camera or more than one camera, INTO computer? Or does it go out only??
Asked by DaveE.
- A:Answer It does not have any support for multiple display neither through the mini-display port nor through the HDMI on the newest MacBook pro and other Macs lineup. All these slots are just decorative holes. Under their employee's Eduardo: "If you are using a adapter to get a connection you may a problem and on a MAC you can only get 1 display not two." Simply do not buy this product.

Q: QuestionCan I use this with a 13" Dell laptop. Connecting to an LG 34" monitor?
Asked by janae.
- A:Answer Yes I could use it with my Dell XPS 13, and a 28" 4k monitor. It worked. HOWEVER, my Dell needed 45w to keep charging, and although this dock states it gives up to 60w, apparently the other items will suck some of that so my Dell gave a message saying the dock device was not outputting enough to charge the laptop when connectng the dock into the Dell main charging c port. The solution is to plug the Dell directly to the wall with its own original charging cord into the main power USBc port on the laptop, PLUS then plug the short dock cord into the Dell's OTHER charging USBc port (which is right next to the dell main charging cable c port). If you don't mind two plugs going into your Dell this will work. However i wanted to try for the single cord setup so I returned this dock to get one with 100w power output to see if I could truly have only one plug going into my laptop... from the dock. Have to wait to see if that will work as I don't have both items yet. Bestbuy has two other USBc docks (that are not made by Dell) that will output 100w or 80w. --> Be aware that you are not going to use the Dell laptop's original 2-piece charging cord to supply power to the dock and monitor etc (the dell cord is only meant to supply 45w, to directly charge the laptop only when no docks are involved), you may need to BUY a USBc wall adaptor cord as well (I bought an 90w, to plug and power from the dock's USBc power port to the wall. Then the short dock cord plugs into the laptop, and hopefully it will charge and power everything. Hope some of this helps!

Q: QuestionIf you don't have a USB-C port on your laptop, can you use a USB A (USB3) port?
Asked by Cory.
- A:Answer No unfortunately one must have a USB-C adaptor (in this case you'd want a USB-C to [what I'm assuming is] a standard USB connector - when you get the adaptor tip, (they are available everywhere), all you have to do is snap the tip onto the connecting wire of this USB hub, and you'll be up and running. This dock in particular has REALLY come in handy for me since I swapped out the macbook pro retina screen (that DID have USB and an SD card reader), to the newer 2016 touchbar model. But the new model, doesn't come with ANY adaptors and all four plugs are a USB-C, added with a headphone jack, of which I'm predicting that will too go by the wayside one day. Since photography is may main area of focus, I was forced to go out and purchase every possible adaptor to make sure that I'd get full use out of my macbook pro. While I love the machine, I was really upset that they took their 'work horse machine' and turned it into a dongle dependent laptop. As MOST people that have a macnew book pro. Many like me need it for editing programs,(photos, music, writing, and movie making). Unfortunately for mac/apple, they didn't think that it was a big deal to remove every creative use port. By taking away every single plug and port, we are now forced as consumers to buy more junk (and carry it with us if we bring our computer anywhere for a display or tutorial, just to keep our machines up and running with our gear. The new macbook pro doesn't even come with an SD card reader - something that I as a photographer, needed and depended on deeply. While I love the machine, it seems that they have turned it into a very expensive macbook air. But like I said, the converter tips ARE available - just watch the reviews and make certain that you buy good quality adaptors - I looked ALL over Best Buy and could not find the right adaptor. HOPEFULLY they wont mind me posting a picture of this one: USB 3.0 (Type-A) Male to USB3.1 (Type-C)Female Gold Plated Connector Converter Adapter (Grey 2-Pack)

Q: QuestionConnected my HP Spectre 13.3 Laptop to Dell 24 inch monitor via HDMI cable and it doesn't recognize the signal. Monitor is black. Anything I can do to fix this?
Asked by Sage.
- A:Answer If you are using a docking station try the 2nd hdmi port on the station. When your computer is on right click anywhere on your desk top and select display settings. Scroll down to the bottom and there is a "multiple displays" section. There should also be a "detect" button to identify all monitors attached to your computer. Once you get your monitor going you can select a setting to have the external monitor on while your laptop is closed. Good Luck.

Q: QuestionI have my macbook pro connected to this device and then i got the extra cable plugged it into my hp computer screen and nothing is happening, actually a cd drive thing pops up but nothing about connecting a display? what am i doing wrong :(
Asked by connection.
- A:Answer Did you check settings on Mac for secondary screen? Sorry if basic question. Had similar issue when I 1st connected to my existing screen. It does not always come up right away or partially. I tried disonnecting hdmi cable then reattaching and it seemed to work.

Q: Questionif i plug a charger into the usb-c port will it power the usb 3.0 ports? or does that power only get transferred to the laptop it's plugged into?
Asked by Jemma.
- A:Answer If the charger does not power the usb port when it is directly plugged into the usb c port power supply connection then you should be getting power to the devices you plug into the ports. The port is not going to know to only power the laptop and not your devices. I cannot comprehend how your laptop would receive power and your usb ports would not. Its just a port to transfer power to anything plugged into it as well as be read by the laptop or computer you plug into it. So you should be able to use this as a charging station on its own. I use another port that is a belkin with a usb c port that i used to charge devices and not connected to my laptop.
