This is the best electric shave we have owned. We have used it for a bout a week now. Neither of us have razor burn. We were using a much older version of a Braun that just did not seem to do as expected. This razor shaves much closer. The neck area is always the hardest area with any electric model but we are happy with the closeness of this one. It is quieter than our previous one. It is actually the best electric razor we have used and we have used them for over 20 years. We both hate shaving. It is pricey but for us worth every penny. We have been using the cleaning system also. We are pleased with it very much. If it becomes too expensive you could tap out the head every day and use the system once a week I would think. If you are used to a straight razor you may. It like any electric but this may be as close as you will get to the closeness. Highly recommended.

I was finally able to shave all of those hard to shave places with relative ease. 

I have owned the Braun Series 5, Series 7 and now the series 9. I can now actually say that I'm finally amazed.  Stupendously Awesome product. Superior in every way... I would Highly recommend..

I had the braun  series 7 which worked well but the bruan series 9090 shaves so much smother and twice as fast . I would recommend this razor to everyone...great........

I  was afraid to spend the money on this only to find that it works as poorly as other electric razors. I let my hair grow kind of long to test it so my hair would be laying down and hard to cut. It shaved every single hair, and I know this sounds crazy, but maybe even more closely than my blade. I had to work and go over a couple of spots on my neck 3 or 4 times, but those are really tough spots. The last time I used it, I shaved in about 90 seconds. This shaver is definitely worth the money.

It is a good product although it doesn't last long for the price

I have always used higher end 3 head razors by norelco, and decided to try the Braun 9290. It is on the pricey side but I have to admit, so far I am impressed by the close shave. The styling is very nice and the cleaning station does a good job. I have not had it long enough to talk about the durability yet but it seems very well built. I am very satisfied. I was also impressed by Walmart. I placed my order on the night before I got it. Very impressive next day delivery.

Such clean cuts, doesn't pull too hard and to top it off when you are finished you have your very own sterilizer that comes with it! I've used this razor for a little over and have officially given it more than a fair shot. I had high hopes for the S9, but have found that it doesn't get as close, regardless of the angle or amount of tugging. I previously used a Series 7 for 11 years and almost got another one due to how well it performed. But instead, I made the choice to get the newest and most improved version. Aside from the poor closeness the S9 has shown, I've had to replace the cartridge after 7months of use (estimated lifespan is 18months) and the on/off button broke after 6months of use. This isn't really the quality I've come to expect from Braun.

Falls short

I bought the Braun Series 9 sport shaver a week ago and I can tell you, without question, I will be returning it. I've been consistently using Braun shavers, since at least 2008, because I felt the premium prices were worth the premium quality of the product and superior shave. However, the Series 9 (and any similar design) have changed my mind. 

The difference in design between my Series 5 and the Series 9 (shown in the pictures) is a laundry list of cutting corners. The internal difference in the blades didn't affect the quality of the shave, based on my own experimentation. However, the series 9 clearly has more possible points of failure. The plastic attachment pieces on the housing, the plethora of moving parts in the assembly itself, and no reasonable ability to clean it without immersing it in water, all make for a less resilient product. Further, the cost for a replacement assembly on series 9, as compared to the blade and cover for the series 5, is vastly higher. I'm sure this is good for Braun, but definitely not for the customer.

Further, the trimmer on the back is noticeably less capable (shown in the photos below). Both the size and the cutting capability for the series 9 have been diminished. The series 9 cuts so poorly, it was pulling hairs on my face! The worst part is that the trimmer doesn't seem to be broken. It's just a shoddy product.

I may give your razors another try in the future, but you've convinced me to check out other razors for the moment. This razor is pretty, for sure, but pretty is not the reason I buy a razor. Please, focus on quality again.
