Great invention

Great invention
1st time users:Expect a learning curve that could get frustrating and messy real quick. I tried using the cup before having my period to practice, but I gave up after not really getting anywhere with the pelvic exercises and trying to squeeze it in with my fingers. When that time of the month came I was more motivated to make it work and I learned through the mistakes I made. FYI: YT tutorials are a place to start, but experience is the real teacher.I suggest making sure it's up there as deep as it needs to be and in upright state. My first bathroom go after inserting it the thing fell in the toilet just from my muscles doing their thing while urinating. Two other times that same day when I removed the cup it was titled [pictured]. In other words, when I inserted it, it folded along the journey.Other things to keep in mind:-Make sure you follow the manual in sterilizing/cleaning the cup (hot water first, cleanser after each use)-Buy/make a cleanser that is nontoxic; the one I bought is pictured-I think it might be easier to start with a regular cup, which I would have done in hindsightIf this helps, I didn't know what kind of cervix I have. I just went with I've never had natural birth, I'm petite (110 lbs- 5 ft), and I used tampons in the recent past. All the reasons why I got size A.

This is my favorite one that I've tried because the silicone is soft and flexible making it easy to put in and it's easy to clean. I've tried some that have a loop finger hold that is supposed to cause the cup to fold when pulled but it never folded enough to put it in or remove it and was more difficult to clean. This one also has the best storage case that allows it to dry in the case and is discrete and easy to carry

I bought this cup after the "Perfect starter cup". This one (A size) was recommended for women that didn't give a birth, but it is smaller than the one I had before. This cup is patterned inwards and has a very small capacity. Now I have returned to the previous cup, which I liked, but it had to be replaced after two years of use because the material was already bad, but cup is good. So cup A is very small, it is better to immediately order size B if this is not your first cup.

I originally used a different version of the Anina cup! And I absolutely loved it! But I decided to get some thing that was a little shorter because your cervix moves! In mind for some reason, just happens to move a lot… TMI but valid information, considering the size! It is extremely soft. I have tried other cups in the past that were much firmer and caused severe cramps or pressed on my bladder. I do not have that issue with this cup! It is phenomenal.

Very comfortable. I have always had issues with insertion of menstrual cups but something about the collapsible design of this made it really simple. There is definitely a learning curve on making sure it sits correctly once inserted - once you figure it out there shouldn’t be any spillage. It’s a little messy upon removal.

I didn't realize that this product was only for LIGHT to MEDIUM flows ONLY until after I purchased. It worked great in the beginning, but when my flow was at its heaviest, I was having to empty the cup every hour. I did get leakage although not as much as I would have with tampons. The suction works great, almost too great. Trying to remove it was a struggle! You have to wiggle it side to side and SLOWLY, or else it pops out too suddenly and MESS EVERYWHERE. Keep in mind that if you remove it, you should probably be in a restroom that has a sink for "easier" clean up. When I tried removing the cup, it popped out suddenly and splattered EVERYWHERE (hands, toilet, floor, clothes). This happened 3 times. By the fourth time, I tried to remove it ever so slowly and tilt it towards the toilet. It took me about 10 minutes in the restroom just trying to remove the damn thing, and cleaning up afterwards, because you can't just reinsert. You have to wash it out (this is why a sink comes in handy) and toilet paper just gets stuck. Also, you have to rinse it out IMMEDIATELY or else it stains. I am reordering a larger cup, a different brand (the DivaCup) in hopes that this will work much better for my flow. Because in reality, I can't be spending 10 minutes in the bathroom cleaning up a crime scene every hour. I need something that's going to last throughout my work shift. I will say that the best part of having a menstrual cup is that it's much more hygienic, which is why I'm giving it another shot. No more embarrassing smells! And, once it's in snug, you can't feel it. I can swim and not have to worry about a tampon tail hanging out. I hope this helps others who are thinking about transitioning.

I will explain why I don't use this product anymore. I gave the product five starts because it does what it says it will; I'm a small woman (5'3"), no children, and this product prevents all leaking (if you insert it correctly and make sure the sides are straight/not folded inside you). But I have read more about silicone recently, and I threw my Intima cup away. Silicone is *somewhat* different from plastic, but is still essentially a plastic. The plastics industry considers silicone a plastic, and there are numerous chemicals that are used in the process of making silicone. There is no way to keep these chemicals from leaching out of the silicone into liquids, or into the highly absorptive vaginal mucosa. Now factor in that you'll be wearing this product continuously for several days of the month. I saw another Q&A where someone states that the company claims there are "no toxins" present in the silicone. I believe that whomever wrote that for the company believes it, but it seems unlikely to me that *their* silicone is toxin-free when all the other silicone out there is *not*. But the odds that a company is fudging the facts in their favor (knowingly or unknowingly) seems *very* likely. I acknowledge that I really don't know for sure, but I'm not going to take the chance. Life is too short, our health is truly so precious. Make your own decision.

This is my first time using a cup and I do not regret it. I was worried about it not fitting, leaks, and discomfort but after using it for my last 2 cycles I'm glad I bought it.
I'm constantly worried about leaks but the suction helps keep everything in place so that "everything" goes in the cup. That wet feeling is the part i dread most during my monthly and the cup keeps me dry.
It might be because I'm scared but I do have a little trouble pulling it out (it doesn't hurt when pulling it out), but like I said, the suction is very secure. The little nub at the bottom makes it easier to pull out and find the cup.
Once I got the hang of putting the cup in it became easy. I found rolling/folding it to be the easiest way to slide the cup in (once its inside it unfolds on its own).
On my day 2 (my heaviest day), the cup was good for 6 hrs before it got full. I could feel that it was full so that helped prevent any accidents
There is a slight discomfort but I think I still have to get use to it (I hands down prefer the slight discomfort over the wet feeling any day). I also noticed my cramps are not as painful (and they were painful) (I don't know the science behind it, but maybe because of the cup, contractions aren't as bad?)
Overall I'm super happy with this product. I'm saving money, and I'm less miserable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every body is different. Mine loves this cup.
Reviewed in Canada on October 18, 2022
I have a couple specific issues that make cups hard to fit, as they have to be soft and they have to be short, so a lot of popular favourites don't work so well for me. I gave this one a go after hearing it meets those conditions, and WOW, so this is why people love cups! I don't feel it at all when it's positioned properly, and it's actually easy for me to insert (probably depends on your anatomy.) It's a bit hard to get out, as you really need to hook the rim, but I'm getting the hang of it.

The only drawback is that a small cup has a small capacity, so I'm emptying frequently on heavy flow days. But I specifically needed a small cup, so that comes with the territory, haha.

    Very happy with my purchase.

I empty it every morning in the shower and never think about it again for 24 hours. I feel clean and fresh all day and love how hygienic it is.

Reviewed in Italy on February 28, 2024
