About the author

Mr. Sylvester studied creative writing and literature at The University at Albany, the College of Saint Rose, the New York State Writers Institute and creative writing workshops too numerous to list.
In his lyrical and stylish short stories he explores how to pick up the pieces and move on when everything has changed and we find ourselves in a liminal space between one self and the next.
His stories engage the reader, unfolding slowly to surprising revelations, taking the reader to new places. These stories are darkly comedic, always poignant, and they create space for the reader to engage.
Writing in The Midwest Book Review, Diane Donovan said "The New York milieu of some of these pieces and people and the shifting tides of their relationships to each other and their self-perception permeate stories that are thought-provoking slices of life incorporating the elements of personal change and interpersonal connection. "

5.0 out of 5 stars Revelatory interviews of a monumental artist
This illuminating book is based on nine interviews conducted over 22 years with the Irish-British figurative painter Francis Bacon. The interviews are more like conversations filled with aphoristic insight into life and art. The bonus is an array of colour reproductions of Bacon’s paintings over the decades.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic book, bent on delivery
This is a classic book, reprinted with good reproductions.
I was only disappointed that in Amazon's processing plant
it got slightly bent on the cover corner. I was too lazy to return it.
It's fine but annoying.
