submitted byMomOf2 - 7 years agoA: You can buy a four pack of rubber covers for the feet. I've used them on various items. Customers shouldn't have to replace the ones on the product and they should come with rubber tips but the replacements are only a few dollars and worth the added safety.

Q: The relatively high cost for the 2-year protection plan ($7) gives me pause. What is the most common failure of this step stool?

A: From the Manufacturer: Retailers often offer additional protection plans on items, and while these certainly come in handy from time to time, it does not appear that this would offer you much benefit on this particular item. Other than occasional damage in shipping, there are no common failures, and as a manufacturer we already offer a limited 10 year warranty on this item. You can register on the Cosco Products website. A: The upper step is 15.75 inches high. Max reach is determined by taking an average person with a 12" reach and placing them on the top step. For this step stool, max reach would be 7.8 feet. Not recommended for tall people at all. I'm 5'9 and despite the quality is pretty decent, is too small and feels unsafe when you use it, not to mention the first step is tiiiiiny.

Love this step stool. In the past, I’ve always bought a single foldable plastic stool, but they always ended up breaking on me after a year. For double the cost, I decided to buy something sturdier and went for this metal, multiple step up options. It’s easy to store out of the way, while also lightweight to carry around the house for hanging decor to getting stuff from the kitchen cabinets. The only flaw I will note is it can slide when on kitchen tile, which can be a bit scary when you’re descending and the slight push of your first foot when it reaches the floor might send it sliding to where you have to gain your balance fast or fall forward with the stool.

Perfect little step stool…at least it used to be. I had two - one for upstairs and one for main floor. Doesn’t take up much room and the first two opened really easily. Got a new one for my greenhouse and this one doesn’t flow as easily from closed to open, but other than that it’s the same. The first time I stepped on the first one it felt a little precarious, but I got used to it and I use them all the time.

Ordered this twice and both times was sent a different model than pictured. It does not have the non-slip grips on the tread and is just a slick metal. Not safe at all. And the feet on the bottom are not very grippy either.

Firstly these are not slip resistant steps in all types of shoes. Secondly and most importantly the feet on these steps are NOT none slip on wood and tile floors. Super dangerous.
