Yes, this machine is designed for use with K-Cups only.

It comes with a  k-cup holder but no other filter holder.  So I guess it only works with k-cups.  At the bottom of the k-cup holder, there is a vertical sprout that would punch into the k-cup coffer pods.  If you plan to use re-usable filters, make sure there's a hole with right size and location.  As you see from a lot of reviews, because there's a gap between the bottom of the lid and top of the k-cup, coffee grind will spill over to other parts of the coffee maker when hot water is injected into the pod and create a hugh mess.   Make sure there's a cover that will cover the re-usable filter pod to prevent that.  I haven't found a perfect match yet so I'm planning to return it.

This is my first K-cup brewer so Iâve no idea how others perform. I was so scared to use it because of all the bad reviews. But it actually gets the job done. Just use a taller cup to avoid the annoying dripping. For 9.99, itâs not that bad.

Not Bad for the Price

I got this for Christmas after requesting as a gift. I haven't had one issue with it. I notice that a lot of people complain about water going everywhere and grounds in coffee. You have to push the pod down to puncture the bottom of the pod! It won't do it on it's own like a Keurig.  And the top won't close unless it's pushed down all the way. The pod holder even comes out if you want to put the pod in and puncture it that way. I have not had any grounds in my coffee at all. I fill it until the inside reservoir and the top is completely full of water. It make almost 20 oz. this way. I have a 20 oz metal cup that I got from Walmart for $10 and it fits perfectly under this machine as long as you take the bottom "drip pan" off the machine. And it comes out so hot I have to add ice to it. If you work it correctly, it is a great little machine for the price!! I use it 1-2 times a day at work and have had no issues by doing it this way! And if it dies next week, I got my $10 worth.

I Love this little Brewer only adjustment I made was to buy a red reusable kcup from Walmart so you can put your own coffee grounds or tea,The red reusable kcup let's the needle on top and bottom work freely and without making a mess hope this helps.

Farberware Brewer

It's a $10 machine, so DON'T expect $80 machine performance. It does what a machine at this price point would do. Heck, all the other single cup machines are $30-$50, so this is a deal.

A good machine for only $10!

A Black Friday purchase for $10, what the heck lets give it a try! Before using, i read many of the reviews here and the product instructions. So, here is my assessment. Easy to set up. No pieces to put together. Plug it in and its ready to go. Since there is no external water reservoir indicator this is a bit tricky. I used a 12 oz cup to fill the water reservoir. I had to pour slowly so not to over fill. I was able to get all 12 oz in and it was filled to the tip top. The K-cup seat is also a bit wonky. It took two hands to open because for $10 the product isn't one-touch. So i found myself holding the rear while pressing the button to open to insert the K-cup. Once open I've found the best way to ensure the puncture is to manually seat the k-cup, press down until you hear the puncture and make sure the K-cup is seated evenly because the puncture needle is slanted. Close the top. Press the on button and brew! The machine gets really hot. The coffee drips sporadically. You'll get a constant drip, then no drip, then a pour, and then trickle. It does splatter but much. I use a tall coffee cup and with my travel mug there is no splatter. From start to finish it took about 4 minutes to brew. My coffee was hot and remained hit even after adding cold cream. The clean up was easy. I just grabbed the K-cup basket and tossed out the K-cup. No mess. No exploded cups. No coffee grinds in my coffee. I received a full 10oz cup of hot brewed coffee.

Worth the money ...

After reading the reviews I was scared to use it..BUT I WAS WRONG the coffee maker works great I used a tall coffee cup to prevent it splashing everywhere since that's what others said and I can say best $10 it works great the only thing with the Kcups it's a little hard to close the lid/top but it works great and my coffee tastes great!

my son got this for me to take on a trip, we got it 11/29/18. the next day I went to run the water through it like it says to wash out packing dust. I'm in a wheelchair, pulled away to get something, pulled up sideways to the countertop and didn't see the hot water pouring out of the bottom until it hot my leg. not go at all.

Ive tried k-cups, and reusable plastic and metal cups and it never makes even close to a good cup . Always filled with grounds. For 10$ ut should work alot better.

Poor product

I brought this on black Friday for $9.96 sale price. This junk had the nerve to say the original price was $59.99. If I could give this a negative 5 stars I would. It takes forever to brew one cup. It starts, stops, drips, goes fast, stops for several seconds, drips fast and trickles out at the end. I attached pictures so you can see what it does when you use grounds. The first time I used grounds I thought I put too much in the K-cup as to why it looked like this. Yesterday I tried again with less grounds and it did the same thing. This is not even worth the $9.96 I paid for it. It's going straight in the trash!!

A piece of crap!!!

To put it mildly this machine is garbage. I was so excited for the $10 price on Black Friday. Its not even worth that. As other reviews have stated it gets grinds on your coffee, it spills water everywhere, doesnt brew a full 10oz. I used mulitple pods, disposable and reusable, and got the same result each time. Pure junk. Glad I saved the box for my return!!
