Rooms were a decent size, beds were comfortable. Great to have a fridge to keep water cold. I liked the fact that there was some fruit left in the room along with a large bottle of water. I also liked the fact that hotel provided a free shuttle service to Essaouira.

This is a nice solid hotel, which was clean, comfortable and cozy.
Breakfast was really nice, and G-d bless the lovely woman at the kitchen, who makes a fantastic cafe au lait with a huge smile, and even after each of us having three delicious cups, she insisted on making us more, which we had to decline.
We loved that there's a Carrefour about a three minute walk from the hotel.

Essaouira has developed from a hippie hangout to become a top Morocco beach resort with good surfing conditions. Its 18th-century medina is almost European in feel and narrow streets lead under low arches past fragrant spice stalls and local artisans selling everything from wood carvings to faience pottery.
Dotted around the souk are many traditional-style riads on Booking.com, hidden behind tiled façades and blue doors. Other Essaouira accommodation options include luxury hotels with swimming pools, cheap apartments, and B&Bs near Essaouira Airport.
Also bright blue are the rowing boats bobbing gently in small harbours sheltered by the Scala of the Port, a wide walkway with ramparts through which several historic cannons poke out. At the end is the Citadel, a small fortress overlooking Mogador Island - the largest of the Iles Purpuraires, so-called for the purple shells found in their rocks that were once used to produce dyes for Roman senator togas.
Another fortress – Bordj El Berod – lies in pieces on the long, sandy beach south of the marina. In the opposite direction the coastline is more rocky and lined by the Scala of the Kasbah, the crenellated walls protecting the medina. Horseriding and camel safaris are available on the beach and you can also visit a Berber village inland.
What a wonderful city! Beaming with actual local craft and art, lots of cute street cats and beautiful colourful houses with intricately decorated doors, windows and fountains. We fell in love with this small city and would love to go back.
Pro Tip if you like cats: buy some vet cat food and walk around the city with it because those creatures will break your heart with their cuteness.
I would recommend spending at least two days there. Get lost in the small streets to the sides from the main shopping areas. Visit the fish market, eat fresh oysters or other sea products. The beach was nice and serves as a great refreshment after long walks in Medina.
Shopping was great and cheap but I would still recommend learning the actual prices first. For example, we got small tiles for 10dhs but in other places we’re getting prices like 50 or 30. Don’t be afraid to walk away and negotiate a bit. Especially if it is not the master themselves selling but a reseller. You can usually find actual masters on the smaller side streets (especially for wood and fabrics). I also noticed that women have fair prices more often.
Food. Amazing street food and fruits! Don’t go to overpriced restaurants on tourist streets, unless they have a “menu” offer which can be worth the price. Otherwise, if you just take a detour from the main hustle, there will be tangine not for 80dhs but for 30. The food is also way cheaper outside of Medina.

Impressive fort!
Impressive fort! The Atlantic brings a fresh brise and a lot of problems for the buildings because humidity. It’s impressive to watch the ocean breaks at the city wall and sunset over the blue fisher boats. The Souk is small but fine and not so over crowded like Marrakech but not easy to get good prices because you don’t have many options like in other souks. But it’s a unique place impressive too!

Good place with a chilled-out vibe.
Good place with a chilled-out vibe. Great for those who are into surfing or wind sports. Also a cool place for those who like to try local food, shop at markets, or just meander through the narrow streets of a historic and vibrant town.
Accommodation is affordable, food is tasty, and the people are friendly. Also lots of activities such as surfing and camel/horse riding.
Easy to reach other towns and cities from the bus station.

There were lots of things I liked about Essaouira.
There were lots of things I liked about Essaouira. It is a coastal seaport with fresh fish brought in daily, so eating fish/seafood was a real delight. The town itself has many sections of medina/suq where all sorts of shopping opportunities, or just gazing around can be had. I did a cookery course which I enjoyed and found very informative, we learned to make a meat tagine, also a lentil dish, and had a visit to the spice market. I went with another hotel guest to a hammam which was a first for me. I enjoyed it all, thought it was perhaps a bit commercial, and disappointed a day or two later to discover I had acquired headlice. I have heard of this happening to others, so whilst dismayed to be in that state, I recognise that it is fairly common. No I would not go to a hammam again. The hassle of getting lice free outweighed for me the enjoyment. I do ,however, recommend the cookery course.

Had a great time here! The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Essaouira. The rooms are cute and clean. A special shout out to Hamid, who was managing the hotel when I was there. I arrived late from Marrakech after the laundry services were closed for the day and Hamid offered to bring them to his home, wash them, and bring them back in the next morning. The extra care he showed made the trip worthwhile and I'd definitely recommend this Riad to anyone traveling to Essaouira!
I visited with my children and we were received by Hussein and his other colleague. We enjoyed staying in Dar Halima. The room was very clean. Beddings were neat and super clean. The people in charge were efficient and welcoming. Our breakfast was served on time each day. We mostly liked the location since it is close to the beach and a walking distance to the city center. I recommend the facility to any one looking to visit Essaouira.
This is the eclectic and bohemian home of Isabelle, your charming host (and her art collection). You have a private bedroom suite, and share a living room and all open areas with a handful of guests. including the open roof terrace, which may have the best view in Essaouira. The host is a delight and makes great food and visit recommendations . We loved our week here and hope to return.
I had the most magical time in this hotel! I felt like staying in a palace. The rooms are even more beautiful than on the pictures! Every staff member I interacted with was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast on the roof terrace is really nice. Perfect location close to the beach and medina. Spa was great too. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I stayed at. Thank you!
old fashioned hotel in the medina of essaouira. you are actually in the middle of the old town. the price is good and i had a quite big room including private bathroom. they sell water bottles for normal market prices at the reception which made shopping a lot easier. the guys at the reception are very friendly and i could leave my luggage there after check-out.
Very causy place, which will not be the impersonal hotel stay but will not bother you at any rate more than you want yourself. Friendly for family with kids. Valuable advice and arrangements on what to do for travelling around Essaouira. Chance to switch of your western agenda, though wifi works very deacently. Authentic Morrocan design in every detail.
Great stay! We loved Essaouira, but the best part was the hotel staff. Iman made us feel at home, Samira gave me the best hammam experience, the reception girl (so sorry for not remembering your name!! 😩) was incredibly helpful, and the chef was awesome and smiley and accommodating! Thank you all for three fabulous days in Essa!!
Nice hotel, nice indoor pool. The rooms were quiet, spacious and comfortable. Didn't try the breakfast as we had to leave early. It seemed a bit overpriced for what was offered.
Great location in front of the beach and close enough to the Medina while being a bit away from all the activity.
My absolute favourite were the horse walks on the beach. The hotel has horse stables and the walk on the horses was amazing. The location is absolutely great, the sunsets are lovely as the hotel is just by the beach. Food was very good and hotel is just gorgeous
1. The room was clean and had a good setup.
2. The reception staff were cordial.
3. The location is great. You just need to step out to go to the sea beach.
4. Breakfast was very good and way better than many hotels and riads in Morocco.
My best experience in Morocco! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is top notch and food is delicious. The people were kind and helpful with me, and I am glad I chose this hotel to stay. Definitely recommend.
It is very close to the beach. It can get really difficult to navigate in the medina but this place is really easy to find. There are also nice restaurants close to the hotel.
A beautiful mix of hotel and Riad, with luxury and European elegance hidden within a Moroccan Riad.
Wonderful breakfast and the team working in the hotel are a credit to you!
