In her most personal and inspiring book yet, New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Somers shows readers how to shape a healthy, lasting relationship through the lens of her fifty-year love affair with her husband, Alan Hamel. For the first time, Suzanne will expose the inner workings of her marriage: a winning combination of love, business, and family. Starting from the very beginning, when a big-city guy from Toronto met a small-town girl from San Bruno, California, readers will get a behind-the-scenes perspective on Suzanne’s groundbreaking success as a TV star and Las Vegas diva, multiple-bestselling author, and successful entrepreneur and businesswoman, along with her more personal life as a mother, partner, and ultimately self-fulfilled woman. Through fame, fortune, sickness and blended families, Suzanne and Alan have kept the vitality of their marriage alive— together 24/7 (and haven't spent a night apart in 37 years), and combining business savvy in their constantly evolving relationship. Now, Suzanne reveals hard-won advice on how to rely on another person without sacrificing individual strengths.

In this mixture of love story, memoir, and practical guide, readers, too, will discover how to forge and maintain a true partnership that’s built to last.

This is truly an inspiring book and it’s written beautifully as well. There’s just so much wisdom; so much one can learn from reading this. I read it in one sitting. Suzanne is an incredibly strong woman who’s accomplished so many wonderful things in her life. Her service to others is her biggest accomplishment. Alan and Suzanne make a great team and what a love story! I believe they were destined to come together.

there is an old proverb that our personalities are formed in our sufferings. This holds true for suzanne somers more than it holds true for anyone. She was born into an alcoholic's family and has memories of locking herself in a closet and her hero during this time was her mother whom she relied on for solace. From an early time she became pregnant than divorced was forced to raise a child on her own without much money and her looks are what brought her out of misery. At that time she met the canadian superstar interviewer alan hamel and a 50 year love relationship started and through it all through all her fame she wanted to help countless americans and people worldwide who suffered like she did and her life journey found expression in her books and she expressed all the questions she found in her body and sought answers for these questions and her life was an expression of love for her fans. The book is an amalgamation of her previous books it is a memoir but it also emphasizes her life with alan hamel and all he meant to her he was her everything everything she could have asked for and more and this is an interesting if light book.

The book goes for light reading she never questions anything about her husband her country or politics she just question those in authority over her like doctors or specialists who exert control over her but she doesnt seem interested in politics. She is pro military and never questions anything about america and we never know if she is republican or democrat or what she thinks about her church she is a catholic although i dont know whether she goes to weekly services. An interesting book and i recommend it for others to read i hope one day she writes a book about all the celebrities she met in hollywood or about her religious faith they would be interesting books. There's was a love affair and suzanne never questions anything about alan or his politics or his loves or hates she accepts it all. But we should know more about their politics and religion to accept as much.

While Suzanne and Alan have an interesting marriage, I doubt this kind would work for the average woman. I have enjoyed Suzanne in all of her many pursuits, but think she could probably retire. I think it is lovely that this relationship works for both of them and am happy for them.
