Great phone, wish it had more storage.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pre-order this phone and got it when it came out. Love this phone immensely, I have had Samsung phones for the past 9 years, so this was a little leap for me. Pro- 1. The camera is amazing, I am able to take really crisp night time shots. Along with quicker subjects (animals, sports, and cars ect...) and still get a clean picture. 2. Multitasking is easy and fluid. 3. Google assistant is amazing, I can stutter something out and she always knows what I'm saying. I use too have all Amazon Alexa divices and you have too say thing perfectly to her or no result. 4. Connectivity! I can switch from YouTube, Google Play, YouTube Music, G-mail, Google Maps. They all communicate, it makes all my work easier. Con- This phone only has 128 GB. All major phones coming out have over 500 GB. That's a disappointment. I can no longer have all the movies, shows, books and photos on my phone. Yes, they have cloud storage on Google drive. But there are places I have no internet service at all. So all-in-all it's a great phone. But buyer beware, there is little storage.

Outstanding camera, battery life is just fine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as I am concerned, the camera on the phone is by far the most important feature. The pixel 4 XL continues google's dominance in accurate photo capture. Ram, processor, etc are all just secondary considerations for me, but the pixel 4 XL never feels slow in any way. Lots of critical reviews about battery life. However, I have no intention of wasting 5 hours of my day staring at my phone. Significant improvement for me vs pixel 3xl with a similar use pattern. Never had a problem making it through the day.

Exactly as advertised- ignore the gimmicks
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the phone. Battery life is acceptable (not great) even for someone who is a heavy user (strictly speaking for the XL version). I can get to the end of the day with about 30%-40% left. 128 gb is much better than 64- but could definitely be higher compared to other models. The 90hz refresh rate screen is immediately noticeable and nicer to me, but may not be to everyone. The camera is yet again one of if not the best on a smartphone, benchmarks aside I find the pictures to be better in day to day usage than my co-workers that use the newest iPhone. I purchased this phone for the best Google/android experience and it provides that for sure. 6gb of ram finally feels like enough, but if you like running 15+ apps it might get slow. I typically close some after about 7-8 apps being open. The Google assistant is what brings me back and works better than it ever has before. Get the phone if you want the best raw android experience, go elsewhere if you want the best overall phone experience.

Function over form
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been an interesting Pixel year (not to say that each year hasn't been an interesting year for the Pixel lineup). The XL model is what you'd expect: streamlined Android experience with some extra goodies like live captions, voice recorder transcriptions, and even crash detection. However, these goodies that were once exclusives are available for pretty much any recent Android device. Speaking of "exclusives", timely Android OS updates/security updates used to be THE perk. Now other OEMs are beating Google to the punch. As of this writing, there are still Pixel 4 users who still do not have the December Security Update. What I'm saying is that much of the allure that once pulled me towards the Pixel lineup just doesn't exist anymore. Sure, the camera is great for still photography, but video is still lagging behind Samsung and Apple. The battery definitely does NOT last me until the end of the day, and though the 90Hz display is great, the overall brightness of the screen is sub par. I am looking to return this phone and wait for the Pixel 4a, which will bring all of the best parts of Pixel without the heavy price tag.

Mostly good
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The great thing about Pixel devices is that you can expect the software to be top notch and the pixel 4 doesn't disappoint there. Cameras are great. Day to day use is great. I have been able to get through my day without having to worry about the battery. Screen is beautiful especially with the 90hz refresh. Getting the AT&T version made sure I got the important VOLTE and WIFI calling features. These make a huge difference in day to day calling. I would suggest you stick with the carrier version unless rooting and unlocking the bootloader is a must for you.(VOLTE should work fine with the unlock version. However WIFI calling will not) What I miss and miss a lot is the fingerprint reader. Face unlock works fine but I much prefer using fingerprint. It not only feels more secure but most apps don't support face unlock yet. Motion Sense(project soli) is pretty useless. I turned it completely off. Google may be able to make this feature better with future updates. Until then I'd appreciate not being a guinea pig for unfinished projects. If you want a phone that will just work and that has 3 years of updates this is the phone for you.

Google Pixels are a joy to use.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I plan on keeping this phone for a few years since the software will keep getting updates for a long while. The camera is excellent and every photo I take looks great. Google has added so many little touches in the software that I've grown to appreciate and could not see how I could go without. One example is when I'm on the lock screen and a song is playing over the loud speaker say at Best Buy and I want to see who the Artist is It shows on the bottom half of the screen. The face unlock is super fast and is consistent. Battery life is decent. The 18w fast charger it comes with charges the device blazingly fast. The only issues I have had were on a previous unit which had some minor battery problems, maybe it was a bad first batch I'm not sure, but Best Buy helped me get the phone replaced since I have Geek Squad protection which I recommend. I've enjoyed owning this so much that I've helped three friends switch to the Pixel and they haven't looked back.

Great Phone for a Former iPhone User
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd had an iphone since about the 2g version. finally made the switch to android with the pixel 4 xl. its very easy to get used to and the camera is amazing. one downside though is no option for additional storage like some other phones but coming from an iphone its not a huge deal like it would be coming from a phone that did have expandable storage.

Good all around phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera and build quality of this phone is excellent. They finally included wireless charging which is great and the battery life isn't as bad as I've seen mentioned in reviews. I do wish it included a wide angle lens however and the screen at low brightness changes colors in a strange way. Performance and form factor are as expected.
