I have an old van and a new phone without a headphone jack. This allows me to use my iPhone 7 in my van with Bluetooth. My major complaint is probably more of an issue with my phone than the device. When ever my iPhone is connected to the Bluetooth, the keyboard or typing function will not work. I also cannot dictate into my phone. That is the only thing thus far that really bothers me. Otherwise it works great in my Honda Odyssey.
I would recommend this to a friend

A:AnswerNO, this device comes with a temporary cable which you can leave plugged into a cigarette lighter, which is what I do. Or you can have Best Buy Geeks install it with a directly wired cable which the will nicely route to the auto's fuse box. There are many other wiring options. Optionally, I think Best Buy Geeks charge 55.00 USD to wire it , if you dont want to use the cable plugged into your cigarette lighter.
A:AnswerIf you are going to have it installed by Best Buy, I would suggest buying the hard wire kit so you won't have the power cable hanging down and taking up your power port.
A:AnswerNo. The only audio it sends to the car is from the Escort Live app. But if your car already has BT and your phone is hooked up directly to it, that connection should continue to function even if the detector is also connected (at least with current version BT devices). So, you get to the same place.
A:AnswerHi Sis, yes, this smartphone controller works with iPhones. However, we cannot guarantee if it will work with the most recent iPhone models, additionally, it can be paired with up to 5 Bluetooth devices but you can only use 1 device at a time. You may refer to this link for its manual: https://docs.sony.com/release//Manual_4594376111.pdf Regards, -Mark
A:AnswerHi Dani, yes, it does have a battery. Under normal conditions, the battery will last approximately 1 year. (The service life may be shorter, depending on the
conditions of use.) Dave
