Was looking for a laptop that was less than 400$ and had decent specs and there weren't many window laptops within that range so I started to look into Chromebooks and saw they fit what I was looking for however I was a little wary at first, especially because of the 4gb of RAM. But after trying it out my wariness went away and found it could handle whatever I threw at it and it's fast as well especially booting up is quick to. I was mostly just looking for laptop that I could use when I was out in the living room watching tv or playing a game since my PC is in my room and so I don't have to use my phone then. I tend to open alot of tabs and multiple apps but this doesn't budge at all, no signs of slowing down at all so far, even after I had 10 tabs open and spotify running and discord and a few others all at once. Am quite impressed with chromebooks now after buying this.   However I don't really like the file manager thing that much right now, I hope they change it in a future update and I wish they'd put a native calendar on here to instead of me having to download a calendar app. But other then those 2 things, this thing is awesome you wont regret buying this!  Just make sure you buy a USB C dongle that has more usb ports since it comes with 2 USB C ports and 1 USB A port.

Amazing! Fast and can handle anything thrown at it

I like it but it is hard to see the letters/numbers on the keys during the day. At night, they light up so it's easier. I am a fairly decent typer and know where the keys are but sometimes need to see certain puncuation marks.

Great Device!

It fits all my needs at this time.  Nice to have a laptop again.

Bought this for my daughter to do her schoolwork on. All the google class and video apps work amazingly (way better than my phone or tablet) speakers are nice, screen has good quality, overall it is very nice to look at and shiny silver, only downside to this device is that the keyboard only has light up keys and its really hard to tell what they are in a bright room, but not a huge dealbreaker, shell just have to get better at typing.

Great, lightweight, kid-friendly

This Asus Chromebook has a beautiful touch screen, super fast Intel M3 processor and the backlit keyboard has a really great feel.

ASUS serves up a winner!

I really think the Asus C425 is one of the best “cheap” Chromebooks around right now.

My first Chromebook was the Asus C423, and I loved it until I bought the C425 when it went on Rollback. And I'm sooo glad that I did.

The C425 is fast, has a decent keyboard, and has a great screen. I use the C425 as my dedicated YouTube, TubiTV and Netflix machine, and it's definitely fast enough for my needs. It's interesting that both the C423 and C425 can output video, as well as charge the battery from either of their USB-C ports. Battery life is pretty decent by the way, I'm getting around 9 hours or so.

Just to see if I could, I was able to output a full screen 1080p YouTube video to my TV via HDMI using a USB-C adapter, while running a second 1080p YouTube video and a TubiTV movie on the laptop screen with no slowdown or hiccups! The Screen on the C425 looks great, too. Bright, colorful, and you don't get that weird washing out when looking at it from different angles. It looks outstanding next to the C423. It's not as good as a MacBook Pro screen, but then again I didn't pay MacBook Pro money for it, so…

One reason I looked at the C425 was the backlit keyboard, and it's very useful in dim and dark rooms. I actually prefer the clicky feel and sound of the C423, but the backlight makes the C425 the clear winner. Sometimes I find that I don't even need the backlight in some situations because the silver keys reflect enough light from the screen that the dark letters on the keys are discernible.

The attached pictures show the C423 (left) and the C425 side by side. While the screen on the C423 isn't entirely terrible, the C425 is simply much much better in every way. Brighter, more vivd colors, and you won't strain your eyes the more you look at it.
