Darn Tough socks are simply the best socks you can buy. I have worn wool socks from several other makers (big-name and small-name brand, alike), and Darn Tough has my vote for the best — especially for active purposes. Any wool sock can lounge around the house. Not every wool sock can hike, bike, and ski. Darn Tough socks can do all of the above.

First impression (just got the sock today) is that they are very, very tightly woven. For me that means that the fit seems extremely tight and small even though the size is given as "Large" and suitable for shoe sizes 10-12 (I'm a 10.5 D shoe size). I'd like to see a genuine size 12 foot go into these socks! In summary, product quality is great but the sizing is off (by a lot).

These were solidly mid cushioned with some stretch and vent areas on the top of the foot through ankle. They worked well as a do-it-all hiking sock and I found myself reaching for this while working from home as the temperatures dropped as well. The only problem was that they are so tightly knit they don't always release moisture and can end up wet and cold by the end of the day. That being said, the lifetime guarantee is amazing and if you buy these you'll have a sock for life.
