Our Complete Probiotic Formula contains 3 billion strains of bacteria in each serving. It does not need to be refrigerated because in powder form, it is very stable. The strains of bacteria will not be affected unless kept in extreme temperatures of heat.
The capsule itself is not enteric coated—meaning that it is not coated with a material that allows the capsule to pass through the stomach to the small intestine before the contents of the capsule are released. Instead, the probiotics are processed using a patented technology to preserve the bacteria until it reaches the intestinal tract, which is also how they can exist in a shelf stable state, requiring no refrigeration.
