Easy ChristianMakes sure to assemble with a power tool. Easy Clap 5
Difficult to assembleMaryThe directions are sparse. You need to attach the ends first so the shelves compress. This is not clear in the instructions. Mine is ok, but one leg is shorter than the other when assembled since the shelves aren’t level.2
I love it enough to put together MelissaThis is a great shelf that makes the aggravation of putting it together worth it.5
PerfectPatriciaI was looking for shelves to fit in a small understairs closet and I bought two and they fit perfectly so I am very happy plus the price was way below anything else I could find.5
Very inexpensive and functional. JoannaI love it! If it's in a high traffic area, I would definitely affix to the wall. I purchased the small greenhouse, which sits on the top shelf, and I have about 14 plants on it. I love it!5
Great Shelves for ItemsNatashaI purchased two of these to display my plants and store plant supplies. I had some difficulty putting together the first one and it ended up not having some screws as I couldn’t get the holes to align. However, while putting together the second one I was much more successful at getting the alignment correct and not tightening the screws immediately. It’s a great looking shelf and its holds my plants. Also very sturdy with and without all of the screws.5
Hardest thing I've ever assembled....but worth the work!DebbieI thought this metal shelf would be perfect to go in my office for my plants. The price was great and it looked super cute in the photos.
I've assembled a lot of my shelving to help save money. They all had some challenges, but I swear.... this is by far the most difficult item I have ever put together. After a while it became a challenge to get this thing together.
Finally, I found success!! I had to use a rubber mallet, a pair of pliers and extra limbs (another person would work too!) to do some minor bending & aid in lining up the holes a little better.
When I finally! got it built, I really love it, it's the perfect size, and super sturdy. Just make sure you have a couple of extra tools and a dose of patience when you build it!4
Wish you’d kept offering the zippered covers for HyllisPatThis shelving is perfect for seedling trays but ikea no longer offers the zippered covers that keep baby plants warm and snug5
Perfect shelving for pottery studioJodyLove these shelves. Great in a pottery studio with water and clay. Easy to clean and good size. Miss the cover that was originally available. It was perfect to keep pottery pieces damp and dry slowly. Hope IKEA will bring it back in the future 5
Headed straight to the recycling centerJohnI've finally found an IKEA piece of furniture that is complete garbage. The holes absolutely did not align. I tried bending and twisting the shelves and legs but nothing worked. The legs were already bent out of the box as were the edges of the shelves. I guess on the bright side I now have 24 screws to add to my collection, but the rest is going to the recycling center. I live 200+ miles from the nearest IKEA so it'll cost more in gas than the thing is worth. Total garbage product.1
HYLLIS is GREAT EASY TO ASSEMBLESabineI hesitated buying after reading reviews about assembly issues and bent pieces. Bought two 55 inches High. Very well packaged- cannot understand how people say pieces arrive bent given the superb packaging. Also very easy to assemble. I am in my mid-seventies and yet it took me less than one hour to assemble the two with a regular screwdriver. They look great. Ignore the naysayer reviews. These are great. Buy them if you like them. You won't be disappointed.5
A bit wonky but ok for priceMabeThe piece is a bit wonky and could have used with something down the back to give it a bit more support. Think it’s relying on getting screwed onto the wall that is not really an option for where I placed it. 3
Perfect for indoor plantsNoraBest way to keep your tiny indoor greens on, doesn't take up space and very durable5
Great storage shelf AshleyNeeded more space to put my indoor plants and really does its job. Some of the steps were a bit hard to follow but I managed. 5
Assembly Possible with PatienceVerified BuyerI actually love putting Ikea things together, or I did until this. I have two of the big ones and do not recall this level of frustration getting the screw holes to align. It took hours. Fits well between the two high ones but seriously, Ikea! 3
I wanted this so much, but thenTracyI had to assemble it. I'm a longtime Ikea customer and am not afraid of putting together their products. Like many here, I found that screw holes were misaligned, the shelves didn't have straight edges to affix the legs, and the directions (which are only good if you're completely clueless) don't help at all. I got it 80% completed, used a square to mark where new holes need to go, and drilled from there. The materials seem excellent, it's just the length of time it took me to assemble was ridiculous. I also was disappointed for the exact issues with the Holmsta armchair - that was a miserable experience. The quality of the materials and design are there, the manufacturing is the issue, sorry to say3
Just what I neededMeaganPerfect, lightweight, sturdy - makes for a great yoga rack/storage5
Good shelf, but terrible assemblingMinheeI like the shelf because it's inexpensive and versatile, but, assembling the shelf really requires a lot of patience. I thought about returning it several times while assembling the shelf, and even though the shelf wasn't flat when I finished, it didn't fall over when I put things on it, and it didn't look bad, so I decided to use it.5
Make sure to use a power drillMaiaraThe holes do not align completely so you must use a power drill to make it work. The shelf itself is very nice, I bought to use in a high humidity storage room and it fits perfectly, I might buy another one.4
Great value!JaniceThese shelves were on sale. It turned out that they had small dents in them. IKEA gave me 20% off. I am using them as utility shelves, so the minor imperfections were not an issue. They would have been a bargain before the additional discount.5
