Yes a 2 a pink and blue, they are hard plastic washable and reusable.

It is electric and it seems to have some sort of a hearing coil inside of it that is similar to what you see inside of a toaster oven.

Flossing sugar or hard candy can be used.

We used normal cane granulated sugar no flavoring or anything just plain white sugar and it spun it just fine. Just make sure you heat up your machine first.

We bought small packets of different flavored flossing sugar.  You just need a small scoop of the flossing sugar to mix with 1 cup of regular sugar, so it really goes a long way.  We also tried lifesavers, and my boys really liked the flavoring from those.

This machine is very easy to use and also very easy to clean up. My friends and all of the kids had a blast making different flavors. We even tried using Jolly Ranchers hard candy and they worked awesomely.

I see in the title that this item is no longer available - how sad! We bought this in May & our entire family has enjoyed since! The unit is charmingly retro looking PLUS it makes real cotton candy that tastes great & has the same texture & consistency as the stuff from carnivals, only fresher! The unit heats quickly & makes a cone fully filled with each batch, sometimes more; it cleans up so easily my child can do it. We have used hard candies & regular granulated sugar successfully. You can color the sugar beforehand to add whatever color tint you prefer to the finished product. In my opinion it is much better than the expensive flossing sugar. This is a great product, not for mass production or large quantities in a hurry, but then that's why they make commercial cotton candy machines!

Walmart should bring this one back!

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas this year. I read all the reviews and was a little worried that it wouldn't work as well as expected. Had to special order it site to store since my local Walmart didn't carry them. I read through the instructions several times to cover all the bases. We used plain table sugar using the measuring scoop provided. As the instructions say, let the machine warm up for about 10 minutes, then turn it off, add the sugar then turn it back on. In less than a minute beautiful candy floss will start to appear.

One hint I might suggest, the instructions say hold the cone vertically, but we found it was much easier to get fluffy cotton by holding the cone horizontally right above the bowl and twirling it. It will continue to pickup the new strands until the sugar runs out. Tastes just like what you would find at the carnival with the exact texture.

Some of the other reviews mention it doesn't make a lot, that wasn't really my experience. Just one tbsp of sugar produced a full cone of cotton candy and given the price of this unit and the fact it isn't a commerical machine that seems about right. You can always add more sugar and it takes mere seconds for it to start spitting out more floss.

This machine has far exceeded my expectations for the value. Next we are gonna try some hard candies like root beer barrels. Clean up is seriously super easy. Since it is just molten sugar a little hot water on the removable pieces with a soft sponge is sufficient to clean up once it's cooled. This machine as you might imagine requires adult supervision at all times as the internal parts get really hot and you don't want your young one sticking their hand in it.

So now the only measure left for evaluation is it's durability. Since we've only used it once there is no way to assess that. I went ahead and paid the extra couple of $$ to get the 2 year replacement plan, so if something does happen we can just exchange it at no cost.

This was a ton of fun even for me as an adult and my daughter was absolutely beaming watching and participating in the process. I would recommend others try this out and see how much fun it can be.

Serious fun for kids and adults.

We were worried about the quality of this product, but so far we really like it.  It is quite easy to use and does not make a mess.  It is also very easy to clean.  We bought the flavored floss to mix with sugar and it turned out just like the real stuff.  My son and his friends have had lots of fun with this cotton candy maker!  We also tried life savers and those worked well too.  It takes about 10 minutes to heat up the machine, but it goes pretty quick after that.  That is an important step.  If you follow the directions, this machine is great and a good deal for the price!

Lots of Fun!

This worked great! Just like the reviews I read before hand. Makes a perfect amount of cotton candy for my 2 girls! They love it!! We used hard candy of different flavors and it was great! It held up well over the holidays with my girls and all their cousins using it! Great buy!

Perfect!

We followed the directions, warmed it up first, then put put the candy in and it works great. Both the flossing sugar and the hard candy works well. But the hard candy seems to work best because it melts faster and seems to make it a lot quicker, all together. After messing up a few batches, we realized that if you put hold the stick horizontally, it will collect more and be much more fluffy. It is a great product and was a great price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is okay with making small batches. It's perfect for 1 or 2 kids.

Easy and fun!

Works good except you don't get a lot of it from just a few pieces of candy. But you can add more after the first is used up. A little messy but not bad.

Fun to use

Does not come with sugar, hard candy option the kids did not like any candy tried.  Great little cotton candy maker once you get sugar.  Follow directions on heating.  Kids favorite was bubble gum sugar.

Kids Love It

One measuring scoop (tablespoon) of sugar made a pretty good size ball of cotton candy I'd say about the size of two adult fists roughly. The only issue we've had is when we used crushed up candy cane's, little stands would fly out into the air it was like raining cotton candy dust. It didn't happen with other hard candies or with sugar. I even crushed up the candy canes so it was almost like adding sugar granules and used the provided measuring cup, but still happened. My guess is that it isn't the machine. I also really like that everything is washable except the heat source and the cones are hard plastic so we can reuse them.

Good buy

This product did not work. I wasted $30 on this and the $15 on floss sugar and it literally just spun the sugar until it was burnt on the spin tray. I tried for 2 hours to make cotton candy and Nothing happened. I really want to get a refund. I would not suggest this product to anyone.
