It arrived quickly and was undamaged
I can’t say enough good things about this can.
It was taller than I imagined which is just fine with me ,I love the rounded front and flat back.
Love the flap lid that holds the trash bag in place and The slow closing lid is a super plus with me.

Definitely worth the money I paid.

I absolutely love it. It was cheaper to buy online then at the store. The store wanted $69. My only complaint is actually to FedEx for putting a dint in my new trash can. But I won't be returning it cuz it's not that big of a deal to me. Also, the company who packeges it should put more padding all around can, so FedEx wont destroy product.

Perfect

I received this item as part of a promotion and was asked to give an honest review. I've used the Mainstays trash can for a few weeks now and I have to say that I really enjoy it. It is a great size for my kitchen. It could be used in a pantry or office as well. In my opinion, it would be a little big for a restroom. I only have to empty it a couple of days a week in the kitchen. The foot pedal is very convenient for full hands. The foot pedal is also useful for sanitary purposes. The lid comes down slowly and does not slam at all, almost like a hydraulic hinge. There is a ring that lifts to change out bags and holds them in place. So, no bags falling in. Overall it's a nice looking trashcan and very convenient to use.

Great trashcan

We got this to replace our old swing-top can and it's a major improvement. I love that there's a ring that holds the trash bag in place that flips up easily in order to change out the bag. The lid is very soft close, which isn't a priority for me, and kind of throws me off, but it's probably safer for the little hands in my house. My favorite feature, though, is that the bag doesn't balloon when you put it in, which drove me crazy about my old swing-top. We use 13 gallon bags with a good, snug fit. The only complaint I have is that the foot pedal is a little overreactive, but it's not a big deal now that I know the proper pressure to use. Overall, very sturdy, looks great, low profile and well designed.

Nice looking and great features

This waste can is very spacious, sturdy, durable and looks classy in my kitchen. It has a removable ring that's attached just below the cover to secure the trash bag and it helps with removing the bag easily when filled. The foot pedal works very well to open the trash can and closes in good timing after throwing the trash in. I received this product free from the Spark reviewer program in exchange for my honest review, however all opinions are my own

Excellent Product

This dustbin has huge capacity and can take a lot of of garbage. I was previously using the 7.93 gallons bin and I had to empty it pretty frequently. When i ordered this, I was afraid of 14.5 gallons and thought it might loom too big and bulky. But to my surprise it doesn't look that big at all. Because they haven't increased the height of bin much but have increased the diameter so the width is increased instead. It definitely is a perfect size i was looking for. 

Now comes to aesthetics, I love this model with silver finish and have a whole set of smaller size bin which i had purchased previously many years back. They are all really good looking and are still working well. So i am pretty sure this 14.5 gallons model will be equally strong and long lasting. When you release your foot to close the flap. It comes down slowly rather than a fast shut which is also a plus. I would totally recommend this product to anyone .

Perfect size I was looking for.Great build quality

This Mainstays Stainless kitchen garbage can is awesome, I love it! If you can love a garbage can...lol. It's a very solid made can and has a very attractive stainless and black finish that fits in perfectly in my kitchen. The size and shape are perfect and the bag inside is actually more open and easier for holding its contents. Very easy to load a bag in, just lift the lid and ring, place the bag around the top and secure it with the ring. Love the foot peddle and the fact that the lid eases down on its own...no slamming down and closes perfectly every time! Very sturdy, stays in place. I am extremely satisfied with this can, meets all of my expectations and more

Awesome garbage can

Love this garbage can. It looks very good. The depth is very large, 14.2 gallons, but the can size itself is no larger or taller than a regular 13 gallon can. Like the bottom attachment used to catch any spills. Also like the garbage bag holder attached to secure the bags. The step to open the can works well and the can closes slowly. The price was excellent and the shipping was fast. Well packaged with protective film around stainless steel. Looks good in my remodeled kitchen. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a extra large garbage can without an oversized look.

Perfect for Kitchen

This trash can is the perfect size for our kitchen (especially with the semi round shape) and easily holds a 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bag. There's a hoop system for bag installation that is super simple to use. No stretching or fighting with bags that barely fit. There's a removable tray at the bottom of the trash can so if you happen to have a leaky bag I imagine clean up would be pretty simple. The outside does show smudges, but overall it's a nicer looking trash can than the all plastic ones, in my opinion. The lid has a soft close feature which I really like. However..and this is a big negative..the peddle for opening the lid is nearly impossible to move. You really have to press down hard in order to get the lid to open. Not to mention the loud thwacking sound that also happens once the peddle is engaged and the lid finally opens. Overall the trash can is very sturdy - it does not slide at all and seems to be very well made. But that peddle...

Nice looking trash can, but hard to open

I was not impressed with this trash can. I don't know if mine was just defective or if all of them are this way but the foot pedal is incredible hard to push down. I have to press very hard to get it to lift the lid, which then slams against the wall because of how hard I need to push on the pedal. There's a lid shaped piece of plastic under the lid that is used to hold the bag in place. It's a good idea but the execution failed. Every time I tried to place a bag this piece would fall down and I would have to push it back up over and over again. It would be much better if it locked into the lid or had a slow close like the actual lid does. 

When I received the trash can there was a protective film covering the stainless steel part that is sandwiched into a seam on the back of the trash can where the ends come together. It was impossible to pull the film completely out of it, which I guess is fine because no one sees the back of it, but seems like careless design.

Aesthetically this trash can is okay. It would look much better with a stainless steel lid instead of the black plastic one it has. The top of the trash bag also is not hidden and sticks out below the lid. The one thing I did like was that the opening was very wide. Overall it's ok, but I will be keeping my current trash can and using this in another area of my home.

Foot pedal is very difficult to push down

I am livid. The lid doesn't open when the trash can is empty! Instead of opening the can tips forward because there isn't enough counter weight. Are you kidding me?! This is extremely frustrating.

Pedal doesn't even open the can.
