I have been searching for a book of Greek myths suitable for my 8-year-old daughter that simplifies the retelling but holds true to the basic stories and won’t give her nightmares. Each tale in this book is the perfect length for a bedtime story, is wonderfully illustrated, and blends right into the next by cleverly ending one tale with a character or place from the next story. It is an oversized book (12.25" x 9") which was unexpected but makes it that much more special to read. Highly recommend...and I may even get more for gifting!

My husband, son and I are going to my son's college planetarium for various shows. At the end of these shows, the teacher talks about the constellations and how they are all related to the Greek Gods. I didn't know any of the stories about the Gods. Yes, I knew certain names of the Gods but did not know the stories behind them. I wanted to be more informed so that the lectures on the constellations made more sense. After researching multiple places for a book on Greek Gods, I saw this one on Amazon. It was highly rated. The stories and explanations are simple, interesting and easily understood. The pictures are cute and are drawn for younger children. It truly is a good book for a quick summary on the Gods. Also, the price is exceptional. I'm glad I purchased this book as it has helped all of us to better understand the constellation presentations .

I have been reading this book to my 8- and 6-year-olds. My little one really likes the pictures and the older one like both the story and images. It is great for anyone who is interested in mythology. While my 8-year-old could easily read it, I think she gets more from these stories being read to. I find that I am reading it more slower so that she can absorb the information, and she loves learning about Greek myths.
