Brownscombe Cabin

Nestled in its own secluded corner of Brownscombe, our cabin is the perfect secret hideaway. Completely private, it has stunning views up the valley to the copse, where Roe deer are often seen.

Sink into luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, lie back, and watch the wind blow gently over the barley field just metres from your door. All you’ll hear is the odd pheasant during the day and Brownscombe’s famous owls at night.

COUPLE’S RETREAT OR FAMILY ADVENTURE

The cabin is perfect for a romantic break, but it’s also spacious enough for a family. There’s a separate master bedroom, and kids will love the adventure of the built in bunk beds with their portholes to spot wildlife through. Bring your binoculars. There is also room for an infant in a travel cot which fits neatly on the lower bunk and one well-behaved dog (over one year old).

TAKE A TOUR

Inside the cabin is immaculately decorated with a blend of beautiful textures and wood, nautical references, and Brownscombe’s trademark attention to detail.

You enter into the main living space with its wood burner, table, two chairs and stools, and fully equipped kitchen (including induction hob, Belfast sink and fridge with icebox). We’ll provide the briquettes for the stove.

Two bunks tuck neatly into the side of the room. Pull out the ladder, draw the curtains and the kids can create their own private dens, with porthole windows at the end of each bunk completing the sense of a boat at sea.

Through the sliding door is a luxurious bathroom, dominated by its stunning copper bath – deep, luxurious and definitely big enough for two.

The low-level picture window makes complete sense when you lie back in scented bubbles and the horizon comes into view at just the right height.

Or if you want to get even closer to nature, the whole bathroom wall opens out to form a clever privacy screen, and you can bathe in the open air.

On the other side of the main living space is the bedroom, with its super comfy bed, and wall of glass looking out over the field. There is plenty of storage for clothes, a Roberts radio, plug points and usb sockets.

SERENE EVENINGS

Outside is a covered decked porch where you can eat al fresco whatever the weather or stargaze from the Adirondack chairs on the deck.
A picnic table and bench sit next to the barbeque fire pit – Toast marshmallows, sip a hot chocolate, or just enjoy watching the sun set and the stars sparkle.

An out-door shower and a wood fired hot tub for those seeking a spirit lifting escape in nature. The hot tub takes 2.5/3 hours to heat but boy is it worth it when you sink into the hot water to watch the sun go down and the stars come out, with a chilled glass of prosecco!

A PEACEFUL RETREAT

The cabin is completely separate from the other accommodation on site so you will be undisturbed by our other visitors. You’ll feel completely private and at peace, with only birdsong to disturb you. It is also possible to park your car outside the Cabin, to ensure complete privacy. More about the site.
