It involves critical thinking...analyzing the consequences of our decision as each choice has pros and cons and that is pretty much everyday life. Life is full of choices and there are more times than not pros and cons to all the choices we face. Grant you some are clearly simple, but the majority of choices we face take some thought and that is important to instill in a child at a young age. Kids 11 and up loved this game.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2014LOVE, LOVE, LOVE using these with teens and older kids. Once they are able to start cognitively processing what a choice is, and how it can affect them or surroundings, it is really neat to use these and open up discussion with groups of kids. These are also great educational resources for "topic starters" if you are having them journal or write papers about something. They can literally "randomly pick" their topic from the jar, or you can draw one out at beginning of class and have them journal about this topic. Great vocabulary/literary exercise with kids. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2013This is a great product for helping kinds use critical thinking, plus it's fun for them and fun for me. I also use these questions as a Segway to more 'serious choices' I create as we go along; especially in light of the abductions of three young ladies at Cincinnati, OH. I'm going to use these with my young grandchildren to help them with these same cognitive skills; fun and beneficial!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2016I work as a school psychologist in an elementary school grades 3-5 and the students I see for counseling love this! It really gets you thinking and sparks a conversation about the pros and cons of each scenario.
The only thing is some of the vocabulary used is outdated. For example, one card mentions finding an animal in your "cupboard" which not one kid understood, as that word is rarely used in today's society.
Overall, I would say this product is worth the price. It isn't only good for counseling, I believe this would work in any social setting to spark conversations.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2013This is like "Would You Rather" with better choices. Nothing gross or out of this world - just simple ones: which do you prefer the beach or the mountains. It's a great way for a group to get to know each other better. I use them with my class of 6th graders who have been together since first grade, but, entering into adolescence, are getting a little shy around each other. It also helps them get to know the people these children are transforming into now that they are transitioning from being a child into an adolescent.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2013I am a young therapist that works with elementary and upper elementary kids, and I absolutely love this product! There are all different kinds of questions from lighthearted to more serious, and I have really enjoyed using these questions with my kids! I would recommend using for ages 7 or 8 up to middle school.
Sample questions include:
Would you rather go one day without speaking or one day without hearing?
Would you rather swim in the summer or snowboard in the winter?
Would you rather live in a mansion and never be able to leave or be homeless and be able to roam the world?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2022The questions are OK, but not great. If you're struggling to come up with questions on your own, this might be helpful. I wish the cards were larger, business card size would have been nice. Or, since they come in a round jar, make the cards round as well. It seems such a waste of packaging.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018I ordered this for a tabletop game, for my MOMSNext group. The moms love it and are entertained for quite awhile with the cards! It's a small container and doesn't take up much room on the table or in the storage containers we use between meetings. I'd highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars very simple and easy
These can be used while sitting around the kitchen table, so very practical and makes powerful parenting more like a game to the kids

5.0 out of 5 stars A great classroom tool for B1
These are not only fun, but also perfect for my B1 class to practice their preference grammar point! For example: “if you had to choose between never being able to stand up for yourself or never knowing when to back down, which would you choose?” - “I would rather never know when to back down than never be able to stand up for myself.” And “if you had to choose between doing a cheer every time someone compliments you or hitting the door frame every time you walk through, which would you choose?” - “I prefer hitting door frames to cheering” ;-)

I love these card sets and use them with teens who I see in therapy. The teens really enjoy talking about the choices they would make under the situations described on the cards, and it is a very nonthreatening way to build rapport with the teens, many of whom do not want to be there in the first place. By the end the session, they are asking for another appointment. I also use the card to assess the value systems, belief systems, behaviors, problem solving, impulse control, and personality of the teens. I love using these card because I do not sound like a drill sargent or interrogator throwing a lot of questions at reluctant teenagers. Excellent tool to build rapport wit.
