Sure you might need to stock up on some ingredients, but it’s worth it, plus we had a fun trip to our local Asian supermarket.
The books is worth buying for the Taiwanese fried chicken alone. But fear not, there are lots of healthy, fresh recipes too.

Its wonderful and a book to inspire even the most reluctant home cook. Being in a hurry, I tend to make old fashioned stews and mash (safety first!) but this beautifully illustrated book and no nonsense approach by Jennifer Joyce has got my culinary imagination firing. This is an easy, step by step book to help me along the way . I can't wait to get going!

Uncomplicated instructions and authentic taste make this one of my favourite cook books. Since it’s not possible to travel to far off places the recipes in this book bring the food from far off places into the home.

The sauces that go with the dishes are amazing, I can’t belive how they elevate a dish to another level. Have now bought earlier books by the amazing Jennifer Joyce. I am so impressed with her work and will be recommending this book to all my other Keen Asian cooking friends.

First started to follow Joyce after taking a cooking class from her in London @ Books for Cooks in Notting Hill. Have bought a couple of her books, so decided to buy My Asian Kitchen about a month ago. Have since become slightly obsessed with it, making foods I had thought about trying, but never really considered - just didn't know where to start and also didn't dare to try when having guests. I am in LA and we entertain a lot - everyone here loves Asian food but in our area there are surprisingly few asian restaurants, more are just for delivery. Last weekend we hosted a small group of our son's friends and their parents, and decided to try the chicken gyozas - dumplings - with miso lemon sauce - looked safe enough to serve on first try. Also made grilled prawns marinated in ginger sauce. Both recipes a huge hit - with both parents and kids - casual and bit sophisticated at same time, perfect for our guests, delicious and simple to make. I am now excited to continue exploring more recipes - last night I made fried rice with fried egg and crispy fried shallots for my family and thinking about trying braised pork belly in Bao buns, daughter's request. looks amazing. I am always trying to find nice hostess gifts and have just purchased 4 for upcoming holiday parties, excited to gift them. Photos inspiring and recipes healthy and flavorful, and so far - simple to make!
