The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel

Delilah Maddox was recently hired as a professional sportscaster. Her first interviews are with players from the New York Steel football team. When she interviews Brody Easton, the Superbowl MVP quarterback, he decides to give her a real show to try and throw her off her game! ;) Delilah is flustered but quickly recovers. Brody may be good looking but he's still an a$$! What Delilah doesn't realize is that she has caught Brody's attention....he is interested in her in a big way! The sexual tension between these two is off the charts. It takes a while but these two finally give in to their attraction to each other and fireworks explode. Of course they try to keep things under wraps and fail miserably! Delilah is starting to realize that there is a lot more to Brody than she ever would have thought. Just when it looks like they will get their happy ending, ghosts from both of their pasts come back to haunt them. It will take soul searching on both of their parts for them to finally get that happy ending but it was worth it! Wow! I loved this story! I really enjoy sassy heroines and Delilah gave it as good as she got it! Add in the dirty mouth that Brody has and this story is the perfect, laugh out loud, swooning romance you want to read.

Brody is smart, funny and the best in the field. He’s a player too – but there’s some secret in his past he’d like to keep private. He has his way with words that can make you cringe, laugh and turn on at the same time. He has a big and compassionate heart, and that side of him would make you fall even harder. Delilah is going to prove herself that she can be good in her work. But her first interview caught her off guard when the mighty Brody Easton gave her a glimpse of him after dropping the tower. It was an epic first meeting, and I’m glad she easily recovered. Our girl is fierce, but the heartbreak she suffered from the past made her careful and emotionally unavailable for anyone. That is until Brody came along. She did try not to fall for his charms. She tried hard enough, but her control was no match for him. He can easily break down her barriers. Their banters kept me hooked, and thoroughly amused, had me reading till the wee hours of the morning, and let us not talk about the oozing sexual tension between the two characters. It was a very long foreplay, and both were really stubborn – but when it finally happened it was definitely worth the wait. I love Brody’s honesty, his ability to chase after what he wants without inhibitions and his ability to fight hard for it. He knew when he would stand back and wait. He’s a perfect gentleman even though it brings him trouble at times. I love everything Vi Keeland writes – and I mean everything. But this one (The Baller), tops my list. I had so much fun and laughed a whole lot but at the same time there was an ample amount of drama to bring tears to my eyes and crush my heart a little bit. I love the twists and turns and all those surprises that caught me off guard. This is something that you should not miss! Rating: 5 Stars

Brody. ‘Nuff said. This is yet another fantastic story by Vi! It’s incredibly hot, well-written and flows smoothly. Delilah might be my favorite heroine ever. She is extremely realistic and acts accordingly. She doesn’t play silly games or have those internal “Should I tell him this extremely important thing? Nah, I won’t tell him this extremely important thing that would prevent a ton of problems in the future. I’ll just keep it to myself” struggles. Brody is just too adorable. Loyal, smart, hot (of course), but also pretty realistic. He is confronted with some unusual circumstances and handles them in the best way he can. Which isn’t always the correct way, but that makes for some interesting conflicts in the book! Vi featured an element from Brody’s past that I sort of wish she had handled a little differently (no spoilers!). It had the promise of making for some VERY interesting conflict, but sort of fell short of that when that catalyst was suddenly removed from the story. A lot of words were used to develop the aforementioned catalyst, and I felt the spark was somewhat lacking. Still very interesting, but not quite the “BOOM!” I was expecting or hoping for. All in all, I really liked this book! I read all 300 pages in 2 sittings, and it’s further proof that I would absolutely read anything…ANYTHING…written by Vi Keeland! ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
