Great ValueMichaelIt's a simple, elegant & functional dining room essential with a cost that makes it almost disposable. That way, I don't freak out if it gets broken. The value for the cost is unmatchable by any other retailer. Thanks Ikea, for making brunch that less stressful.5
Like itAdityaWe are using this product for a long time and it working fine with no issues4
Perfect for our summer partyLynnWe used the carafes on our birthday party drink cart so everyone could make custom drinks. It was perfect and very attractive for the price.5
A great Karaff!LewNice and simple design. Very useful for liquids and even as a vase.5
Meh - more like a base eAntonellaBought online so i couldn’t tell how thin this glass is and the size is a bit small. Really seems more like a vase rather than a carafe. Don’t recommend.2
Pair with Ivrig glass as a lid!NamBeautiful silhouette yet simple. I use Karaff as a water carafe with the Ivrig clear glass (502.583.23) as a lid/cover. The Ivrig glass fits nicely into the carafe. Looks better than most carafe/glass combos, and can't find one elsewhere that replicates this elegant and modern look. $7 for both! I'm so much better about staying hydrated now. When picking them out in-store, look for ones with a flat bottom because most have a slanted bottom. However, the lip thickness seems to be very uniform!5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

Designer thoughts

"My idea behind KARAFF carafe in glass is that it should be possible to use in different ways. To serve juice, water or wine – or why not use it as a flower vase with one single flower? The design in clear glass is beautiful on its own and its simplicity means the carafe can be used just as well both at home and for public use. Thanks to the narrow neck and the wide opening, it’s also easy to hold and pour from. There are many possibilities – it’s just a matter of choosing."
