Product Description

The Archival Methods Conservation Mat Board uses alpha-cellulose pulp from purified wood fiber, that is more economical to manufacture then cotton paper but has the same stable and long-lasting properties. Purified wood pulp paper has a long history of being safe to use with paper artwork, photographs and documents. Conservation Mat Board is acid- and lignin-free and uses alkaline or neutral sizing. The boards are buffered with calcium carbonate for added protection from ambient conditions that often cause the pH of paper to decrease with age.Pearl White has a warm tonality when compared to the company's' Bright White Museum Board, similar to antique white with less of a yellow tint. The look, feel and cutting characteristics are very similar to mat board made from cotton pulp and has a similar lustrous surface.

Just what I needed. Flexible enough for my projects. Nice quality

These are thinner than I thought they would be, and they are much flimsier. I have used acrylic paints on other mat boards, and they held up much better. I ordered these thinking they were just as good, but they curl up like a cat in front of a fire. Except I like cats. I don't really like these. I know that I'm not using them for their intended purpose, so take this with a grain of salt.

This board is thinner than matboard, but that's its strength for some applications. Unlike matboard, it can be carefully scored and folded at 90° angles. Like standard cardstock, it has a grain that handles scores and folds along one dimension better than along the other; unlike cardstock it really doesn't handle 180° folds very gracefully, even along the grain. I use this board to make boxes, and to create thin but stiff cards for a matching game (bonding to a patterned paper on one side with a dry-mount process). The two sides seem pretty much equivalent: they have a mildly coated texture not especially designed for pens or stamps, but they do accept dye-based color fairly well, and they handle pigment-based processes very crisply. The color is more natural/cream than bright white.

I use this for crafts. As it is 2 ply it can be cut pretty well with a scissors.

The quality of this product is less than expected. The whiteness of the board is not bright. The thickness is half of what a good mat board should be. Unless your requirement is to just mount a picture and have a real mat on top do not waste your money.

I love this product. I will be purchasing again. Thanks so much for the fast delivery.

Bought some of this to mat some photographs.

This is very thin mat board. Almost like poster-board. Definitely not robust. It works, but only because I didn't have time to buy more robust mat board.

Served it's purpose, but I won't buy this type again.
