Q: Does sim card kit include the tray for the card?
A: When has a SIM card ever come with the tray??? That part is exclusive to the phone... tHeRe ArE nO sTuPiD qUeStUiOnS
A: Yes, as long as you are the account owner of the present number and have credentials to authorize the transfer you can keep the existing number. Also, Google Fi will reimburse you for the cost of the sim if you buy it from best buy.
Q: do i have to pay monthly or is this a one time payment and how often do i have to buy one
A: You only buy the SIM card once. It does NOT provide phone service. All billing and payments are through your Google Fi account. To get phone service, you create an account with Google Fi. Transfer your current phone number, or get a new number, through your Google Fi account. You put the SIM card in your phone when you activate service, then Google Fi tells the SIM card what your phone number is and other info it needs for your phone to work. Google Fi will also give you a $10 credit on your bill, so you will get back most of the money for the cost for the SIM card.

A: This is a great option for your travels. I went from Washington, DC to Paris, France (with a day trip to London) for 2 weeks with my unlocked S8. Service was perfect. As soon as you put the card in it will register. It will ask you to restart your phone then it is working. Just be aware of the $/minute for the United States. I THINK for the US it is a flat $20 a month (no per minute rate). You can always cancel the service once you return and whatever days you didn't use will be credited on your bill.
