About

With a warm, relatable sound that has captured the hearts of countless fans, Michaelson's compelling story as a highly successful unsigned artist first achieved national attention with multiple song placements on the hit television series Grey's Anatomy. The show's producers became so enamored of her music that they chose Michaelson's "Keep Breathing" to air during the final six minutes of the 2007 season finale, resulting in massive and immediate mainstream exposure. Her ubiquitous hit single "The Way I Am," off her breakthrough album Girls and Boys, was not only spun on radio stations all over the country, but was featured in a major national television commercial for Old Navy. Ingrid has since appeared on Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was the first unsigned musician ever selected as a Vh1 "You Oughta Know" artist.  The New York Times has described Michaelson's unique musical approach as "soulful, idiosyncratic" and Entertainment Weekly described her as "a deft mistress of quirk folk... a grassroots phenomenon." Ingrid has released all of her music via her own Cabin 24 label which has sold nearly 400,000 albums and over 1.5 million singles to date.

With the release of her new album Everybody, Ingrid brings a newfound wisdom and maturity to her music, gleaned from touring the world with musicians like Dave Matthews and Jason Mraz. On Everybody, she showcases a matured point of view as she explores a new self-realized, independent relationship with the idea of love. "'Everybody' - which is about a big idea," explained Paste Magazine, "chronicles a relationship so intense and volatile that both lovers lose themselves within it. ‘Everybody' is truly everybody's."

Ingrid Michaelson’s holiday show was a blast

    by Tsol77 on 12/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

Attended the 2nd night of Ingrid Michaelson’s holiday show at The Wilbur in Boston. It was a great combination of hits and holiday songs. Ingrid has a quick wit and her stories and crowd interactions were fun and humorous. Ms. Michaelson doesn’t perform frequently, so don’t miss the opportunities.

Ingrid in FINE form - excellent vocals and charming

by Haligonians on 12/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

Ingrid and her two supporting musician band mates were fantastic! Vocals were impeccable. She gave a very satisfying mix of Christmas selections from her SUPERB holiday album and her greatest pop hits. Ingrid was also quite chatty (in a good way), charming and hilarious. She stayed behind afterward for quite some time signing merch and chatting with those of us who lined up to meet her. Definitely worth traveling from Halifax to Boston to see her. Only reason why this didn’t get a 5 star rating was the seats on the floor at the Wilbur were very uncomfortable and tightly packed in. Maybe we’re getting old but being comfortable while watching a great show is important.

    Fun, entertaining evening

by Jane on 12/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

Music was great, but Ingrid was feeling chatty - it almost ended up feeling more like a comedy show. Had a fabulous time! Would totally go to one of her performances again.

    What a dhow

by bbcj on 11/29/22Lincoln Theatre - Washington

First time to the Lincoln Theater. Nice place. Parking is a challenge but there is a parking deck about 3 blocks away. Ingrid Michaelson was unbelievably good. The sound was great. She performed with two others, a keyboardist and guitarist. They filled the theater with sound. Crystal clear vocals were the highlight of the evening. If you get the opportunity to see Ingrid Michaelson then do not pass it up. You will be amazed. Hats off to the Lincoln Theater and its staff for a great experience.

I loved this concert. Ingrid’s music, voice and funny personality make for an unforgettable night. Her opening act, Tiny Habits, was incredible to see live.

Had heard her music and really enjoyed. But now that I’ve seen her show… absolutely love her. She’s funny and personable! Truly enjoyed her show. Even my husband did and he only went cause I bought the tickets.

    Amazing but late...

by Kewi on 11/6/19Webster Hall - New York

Ingrid was absolutely fantastic and it was a wonderful concert. I will follow her anywhere. I was really disappointed with the opener starting a full hour late. I would have been okay with 10-20 minutes, but it was pretty disrespectful to wait around (standing) for over an hour. The opener was also very young and didn’t feel like the same vibe as Ingrid.

    1st time at Webster

by Kind of a fan on 11/1/19Webster Hall - New York

What a great venue! Classic cool bar room upon entry with the theater upstairs. Would normally prefer seating over general admission but didn't miss it. Ingrid was gregarious, band was fun, and her 80s throwback themed show was worth the trip.
