I've Had It For A Month - My Thoughts
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, for less than $700, this MAY be as good as it gets. It has some decent graphics, touch screen and it flips into a tablet. Not extremely lightweight but definitely not as heavy as my 17" Dell gaming laptop (that has almost equal graphics to this, paid around $1000). I love it so far and cant wait to use it for school. The only complaint I have is the battery life and I've also been getting a lot of software/firmware updates. Love the backlit keyboard as well. Also love the face recognition.

Replaced My Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new PC so I chose the Dell based on the many things I heard about it. I’m rnjoying using it. It’s not too big and it does what I want it to do. Why a PC? I gave a couple of products that require a PC. One such is a camera for taking pictures of an Iris. The other sends herbal info to my clients. I’m happy with its performance so far.

FREQUENT BSODS ARE PERSISTENT ACROSS DEVICES
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially quite hesitant to pick up this computer because I had read a number of reviews - quite recent ones - stating that they had to return their computer due to frequent blue screen errors. I am here to say to corroborate this and say that this is exactly correct. IF YOU PURCHASE THIS MACHINE, YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO A BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH EVERY FEW HOURS. It is also possible you will experience checkerboard-patterned corruption and flashing/flickering of your screen. This is of course completely unacceptable for brand new computers. I am not tech illiterate! I have also made forum posts about this issue, googled incessantly for possible fixes, and discussed the problem with AMD and with an independent computer expert. It seems some solutions have been found by some people, but people are receiving different error codes across devices (my most common one is VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR, but I have received other ones as well). So I would advise you to not purchase this laptop unless you desire to finagle with yours and figure it out yourself - which may turn out to be impossible or require waiting an unacceptable amount of time for a fix to be published. The rest of the computer's features pale before this immense fault, however, I wholeheartedly love the build - I love the keyboard, I love the size and shape. The keyboard layout is optimal for the way I type - I am used to it and I love it. So I dearly want to keep this computer - I might even be willing to put up with these problems in order to keep this computer, but if it's this glitchy now, I fear to imagine what it'll be like in just a single year. Therefore, if I cannot solve this problem to my satisfaction within the fifteen days allotted by Best Buy, I will be returning mine. Meanwhile, I would encourage readers to consider alternatives.

Great 2 N 1 Dell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the 13 in screen. It is very light and portable. It is also 2 N 1. This us the first time I have ever owned a Dell. This is my favorite laptop I have ever owned.

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item less than two months ago and there was a software issue where my screen would turn green and glitches would continueously persist during videos. It started after one month and a few days after purchase and got worse out of nowhere. The one year warranty does not cover software issues so Best Buy was unable to send it out for repair to fix the issue. It’s 100 to repair within Best Buy but I find that ridiculous since I am a student who purchased my first lap top and opened a credit card to pay it off. It’s too much for me to afford at the moment. Best Buy has the best customer service though I love their geek squad they were very helpful and informative on the issue. They redirected me to dell and presented me with options in resolving the issue. I am now dealing with dell since this computer is new yet functions very poorly It’s unfortunate but hopefully dell provides good customer service. I’m still currently waiting on their late phone call back to resolve this issue, not a good start for dell. This will be the last time I ever buy a dell computer.

Q: QuestionHow is the AMD Ryzen processor vs Intel i5?
Asked by Greg3789.
- A:Answer Any Intel i5 7th generation or earlier gets pummeled by the AMD Ryzen, and the Ryzen is flat out preferable to an i3 or lower. Intel i5 8th generation or later, they trade blows depending on the task but both are great processors. i5 will generally have a bit better battery life, but you're typically looking at more than four hours in either case. That said, if you're planning on doing any kind of light gaming? The Ryzen's integrated graphics are vastly superior to Intel's, and it winds up being a much better choice.

Q: QuestionIs it an i3 processor or i5 processor?? Didn't mentioned
Asked by Charlie.
- A:Answer This computer comes with an AMD Quad-Core Ryzen 5 2500U processor. The AMD Quad-Core Ryzen 5 2500U is similar in processing power as the Intel i5.

Q: QuestionDoes this have a fingerprint reader? I've heard the Inspiron 7000 series has a fingerprint reader built-in to the power button but nothing is mentioned about it here or even on the Dell page. Is the body aluminum/metal or plastic?
Asked by DrNex.
- A:Answer not likely, the power button on this model is on the right side and I am not 100% positive but the button doesn't appear to have a sensor. recent buy and I don't have it in front of me, so not 100% sure on this either, but plastic bottom and metal near the keyboard.

Q: QuestionHow is the cooling performance when doing something demanding? like say gaming or CPU/GPU rendering? Does it thermal throttle?
Asked by Nani86.
- A:Answer It depends on the surface your laptop is on and how many things are running in the background. Me personally i've had that laptop for 1-2 years now and when i do something like gaming or CPU/GPU rendering it does get a little hot but not too hot, the only time it gets VERY HOT would be when its placed under something that could stop the vent at the bottom but other than that it only get mildly hot.

Q: QuestionCan you load any official AMD graphics drivers on this laptop? If so, what version(s) has anyone gotten to work?
Asked by XBnPC.
- A:Answer Yes, you can load the AMD graphics drivers. I loaded the latest ones for the Radeon Vega 8. The drivers which came with it caused a blue screen every time I loaded the Unreal Engine, and the drivers from Dell did not help. Only the drivers from AMD's web site worked. Also, I had no luck getting the automatic detection to work. I had to pick the drivers I wanted.
