About

THE OAK RIDGE BOYS IN CONCERT:

The Oak Ridge Boys' timeless country and gospel classics may date back to the World War II era, but the band is still a force to be reckoned with in the 21st century. Their showmanship is unstoppable -- whether they're playing oldies like "Elvira" or the smash-hit "Leaving Louisiana In the Broad Daylight," they always keep the energy high at their live shows with perfect harmonies and tight fingerpicking. It's been over 50 years since the Oak Ridge Boys first performed together, and their voices are still sharp as ever as they treat fans to their gospel-infused country tunes on the 2014 Boys Night Out tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Oak Ridge Boys' founding member Wally Fowler started the band in 1949, recruiting an existing group called the Calvary Quartet to perform with him as the Oak Ridge Quartet. As a nod to their country gospel roots, the quartet changed their name to the Oak Ridge Boys, and their career took off from there. The group has had several personnel changes over the course of their tenure, but that hasn't stopped them from producing hit after hit during their decade-spanning career. The Oak Ridge Boys have released 31 studio albums -- a number of which have reached gold certification or higher -- and over 30 Top 10 singles, an enormous feat for the world-renowned country quartet. With numerous Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM Awards under their belt, the Oak Ridge Boys are truly a one-of-a-kind act. After over 60 years of touring together, the group is set to delight fans once again with a string of highly anticipated shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"They played to sold out theater and what a great show they put on. They get better with every show, looking forward to seeing them again!"

"The Oak Ridge Boys are still so good and brought back so many memories. Absolutely loved them!!!"

"Cannot believe what incredible voices they have. They really give you your money's worth. I've seen the Oak Ridge Boys so many times and can't believe what a show they put on!"

    A Life Long Fan!

I am 58 yrs old and grew up listening to "real Country music". Those men kick butt! I knew every word to every song! I sat in the front row and sang, danced, cried shaking hands with such legends. It was the night before my Birthday and truly a night I will hold dear to my heart forever. I pray these amazing gentlemen had a blessed retirement 🙏 ❤️

    Oak ridge boys

Concert was very good, but only 1.25 hours. I did not like the replacement singer. He harmonized well with the group. But his solos were awful. He sounded like a cartoon character.

    Went Out in Style

by SamandRosanne on 3/18/24Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

It's always sad to know that a group you love is retiring BUT it was great to be able to see them before they do. They sang their biggest hits, covered all their genres, and the crowd loved them for it. For us, the only thing that we're not that sure of is their new tenor that has taken Jo B role: he's very young and his voice doesn't have that depth of sound and it doesn't blend at times with the others. He's got good range but, as expected, it's just not the same without Joe B. Overall, the concert was very enjoyable and we're glad we got to see them one last time. Enjoy your retirement guys, it's time for you all to enjoy the rest of your lives.

I love the Oak Ridge Boys

by Terry on 3/17/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

I purchased my tickets prior to Joe Bonsall announced his retirement. If I had known about his retirement I probably would not have purchased the tickets. However, I had the tickets and we went to the concert. Before the Oak Ridge Boys took the stage, it was announced Duane Allen would not be there due to a family emergency. The substitutes did an ok job but I was very disappointed. It was enjoyable but only half of the Oak Ridge Boys were there and I i got the feeling Richard Sterban wanted to be somewhere else. William Lee Golden did his best to entertain us. I wish I had not spent my money to see them. I wish them well in retirement. They have earned it.

With only 2 of the original members present, the group wasn't the same. Richard was still awesome.

    Great Concert

by Music Fan 2024 on 3/7/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

The concert was great, even though we were a little disappointed that Duane Allen had a family issue and was not able to be there. Since it was the farewell tour, it would have been nice to see as much of the group as possible. William Lee Golden did a nice job and Richard Sterban blew it out of the water. His voice at 80 years old is still as strong as ever. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend going to see them on their last ride if you have a chance.

    Oak Ridge Boys

by Mark on 3/5/24Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

I have been an Oak Ridge Boys fan for a long time. Unfortunately only half of the group was able to perform, Joe Bonsal and Duane Allen were out due to health problems. Mr Golden was off key a lot, but Richard Sterban was great. I know the members are older, but I expected more.
