Great value, multiple features.
This brand was recommended to me by a friend and definitely great. It is a great price and does every thing the higher priced products do. I encourage the reading of the instruction manual details before trying to use. It is easy to use once I understood all the lights, beeps, setting timer correctly, and understanding the release valve safety. It is lightweight, fits nicely on a small counter space and easy to clean. The additional utensils were nice but I needed longer handles. It will hold larger amount than the standard recipes which will be nice for increasing amounts for potluck. This was my first time using a pressure cooker but will not be my last. The Apple Squash soup I made using took 2-3 hours and this was only 20 minutes!! I highly recommend this Insignia product.

Does what it is supposed to do.
I bought this to replace a Cuisinart 6qt pressure cooker, I'm guessing the pressure this one cooks at is lower because in my Cuisinart, cabbage and potatoes always got done in 9 minutes and the Insignia I'm looking at about 15 min. the other thing I'm disappointed about is the chime that goes off when cooking is done barely sounds, if I'm not standing next to it, I'm not able to hear it. Was easy to use and to clean up
I had read other reviews about this pressure cooker and worried about being able to cook with it because of complaints about the directions that came with it. They were saying the directions were not clear and couldn't figure out how to cook with it...I know I am elderly and have cooked on a non-electric pressure cooker. I had no problems at all with the directions. I did read all of them before starting and I watched two videos on youtube. It's a miracle!
Honestly, I couldn't believe how much faster this pressure cooker was compared to my slow cooker..A chuck roast that took *hours* in the slow cooker only needed 1 1/2 hours in the pressure cooker..But, it was also more tender and flavorful..Wow! Grits, another miracle, only took 12 minutes, without the constant attention they normally need..Place grits, water and salt in the pot, close the lid, cook 12 minutes..All I needed to do when they were finished was to whisk in some heavy cream and serve straight from the cooker..No hassle, just awesome food!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
