Great suction, too good in some cases
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - Great suction, 5 stars, one of the best I’ve used. If you have carpet in your whole house or bedrooms, then this is a great vacuum. - ability to turn off brushes. - works on hard floors Cons - Not good for small rugs, like entry way (see picture), kitchen mats etc. the suction is so good that it just sucks and holds on one spot. - Not good on any long threaded rugs (see picture) Even if large enough to where it doesn’t lift up the whole rug, the long threads get stuck in the rolls. There’s no manual height adjustment to lift the rolls so they are not so deep. Yes you can turn the brush off, but then you don’t get a good clean. Many other vacuums where you can raise the height to maximum work fine on these rugs. - there’s no release lever to tilt the vacuum back when ready to start, you just sort of lean it back and it “breaks” away. Hard to explain but I don’t like it. I have hard floors throughout my home with areas rugs so I’m disappointed this vacuum doesn’t work on all my floors. If whole home is carpet, then could be a good buy.

Posted .Hello James, this is Kelly with Dyson. I am happy to learn that you've been so pleased with the suction power from your Dyson Ball Multi Floor, as well as the ability to shut off the spinning bristles while vacuuming on your bare floors. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor features Dyson ball technology, which allows for easy navigation with the turn of a wrist. The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push on some surfaces will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor.
Also, the machine will feature a quick recline feature. This will avoid the need for pedals or stepping on the front of the machine as with our non-ball models. Rolling the unit around from room to room is recommended to be done with the ball instead of the stabilizer wheels on the back of the ball. You can then put the unit upright once you are done with cleaning and for storage.
While we don't expect our valued owners to experience any issues with their machines, we are keen to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. Dyson is committed to customer satisfaction.
Best wishes,
Kelly

I started with the Oreck Magnesium
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned it and purchased the Dyson and for me it is night and day. My Dyson truly never loses suction, it goes from carpet to hardwood and like I said no suction loss. Excellent if you can pick a Dyson Ball NIB under 249.99 Best Buy Deal of the Day, no other company can touch it and would even fight you on lowering to do the price match. I am sticking with Best Buy everytime these days.

Perfect choice really works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for a vacuum cleaner that could really get the job done but not be to heavy. Needed a simple machine that had an aggressive auction mechanism such that it really cleaned the first time, every time. I think my Dyson is such a vacuum cleaner. Thank you

My third Dyson and still going strong
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Work's pretty well, this is the same model I already had so it was replacing my current one that was showing its age. I was a little disappointed that Dyson didn't improve the functionality of the upright position. It's a little rough getting it to lock in place just as my old one but basically the price I got III t for was worth the investment. The photos reflect minor differences between the changes they made on the same model vacuum several years later. The new one is on the right, the canister is quite a bit larger and the inlet has changed in the wat the air enters the canister. I didn't realize it until I brought it home

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between purple(Model: 208988-01) and yellow(Model: 206900-01)? They have same names but different price and color.
Asked by mcm.
- A:Answer I contacted Best Buy but they don't know the diffrence between yellow and purple. So I contacted Dyson and below is what they said "the purple model from Best Buy will come with additional tools as well. The vacuum will come with the 2 standard tools like the yellow machine, however the purple vacuum will also come with the stiff bristle brush, mattress tool and the carbon fibre soft dusting brush.Besides the difference in attachments and color, the two machines will be exactly the same" hope this helps everyone

Q: QuestionIs this product powerful enough to pick up dog hairMy son wants to purchase this product for me and of course I have a dog.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer My wife has two long hair cats that never seem to stop shedding. After my last vacuum gave out because of that fact, a month or so went by before I could get this vacuum. Some parts of my carpet got pretty bad with cat hair, but the Dyson picked it up like it was nothing. I expect it will work as well with dog hair.

Q: Questiondoes this vacuum drive itself?I know that's probably not the right term, but some vacuums kind of drive themselves, making it less tiring to use. It's kind of a dealbreaker for me!
Asked by barbara.
- A:Answer This vacuum does not have a direct drive belt, but this vacuum is very easy to push as the beater bar almost pulls it through the carpet.

Q: QuestionCan you vacuum under a bed with this model?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No you can't, not even with the extending hose, because the angle of the extension that can be mounted dos not allow you to do so... Quite upset about it

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this and the Dyson Slim Ball Upright Multi-Floor Vacuum in White (Model 281289-01 & Skuld 67681006)
Asked by Tania1981.
- A:Answer Hello Tania, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Slim Ball, which is Model 281289-01 is a smaller, more compact machine. The suction power on this upright is 200 air watts, the machine itself is just 15 lbs. and the bin size is 0.34 gallons. The Ball Multi Floor upright is a full size upright with 270 air watts of suction power. This model weighs just over 17 lbs. and the bin size is larger, at 0.55 gallons. Both machines will perform in the same manner, both having Dyson Ball technology. They will both offer a self-adjusting cleaner head to seal in suction across all flooring types and a brush bar that you can shut on/off. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
