- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2019I bought these as a total bullet journaling newbie. I wasn't sure if I'd like it so I didn't want to shell out for a super expensive notebook. These seemed like an affordable alternative just to try it out.
Turns out they are REALLY nice. The paper is nice to write on and incredibly thick. There's very minimal ghosting and bleeding-- I use a variety of Sakura gel pens and while some of the dark Metallics ghost a bit, the only ones that bled at all are the Gold/Silver Shadow, and it was a single blob of ink. When I was in college I had problems with the Shadow pens putting out so much ink they actually glued pages of textbooks together, so color me very impressed.
The cover is a nice, soft faux leather and these journals also have a back pocket and a bookmark ribbon. Not strictly necessary but those are little touches I didn't expect at this price point.
Will I buy these again? Absolutely. They're presumably not on the level of a Leuchtenberg or something but they're still very nice, especially if you're on a budget.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2018All in all this is honestly one of the best notebooks I've purchased for bullet journaling. I love, and I mean, LOVE using a variety of pens for my Bullet Journal and with this one there's been hardly any bleed through.
I also enjoy the fact that despite HEAVY and DAILY use the spine has remained intact throughout my entire time writing in this book. I've had so many previously just fall apart after a few month's of use and here we are 6 months into this one and everything is still great. Even the book marker has stood the test of time and has yet to fray or come off.
The only thing that I had to 'reinforce' was the sides of the little back pocket for loose items. I store a metal ruler in there and over time it started to wear away at the paper but a couple strips of washi tape fixed that right up. I bought another set of journals so I have more to fill out when I finish this book.
Because of this one my roommate also expressed an interest in bullet journaling so I've gifted him the extra from my first order. 10 out of 10 would buy again. I'll be hard pressed to find another notebook that works as well as this one and is affordably priced.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2018Excellent notebook. Perfect size to conveniently have on hand at all times. Paper is very substantial and does not allow ink to leech through. Lies flat when opened, which makes writing on both sides of the page easy. Elastic band holds up and is very handy for keeping it closed and holding a pen. All this at a reasonable price. This has become my go-to journal.
Update: 5/15/18 - I have been using this journal daily since February, and have used it with multiple pens (ball point, gel pen, felt tip). None of the pens bled through at any point, and the paper is very smooth for writing - smoother than standard paper. The cover looks professional, and has a nice, soft feel. Also, the binding holds up well through months of regular use.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2019I wanted to start my first bullet journal for 2020, so I looked for reviews of all kinds of dotted journals and found that many were a little pricey or the paper quality was just terrible. Not these journals! It came in a 2-pack for $15, less the price of a Leuchturrm 1917 or Moleskine or one of those other popular brands. Each journal has 64 sheets, or 128 pages. The pages are an off white color, which I prefer because it easier on my eyes, 5mm spacing between each dot, and there are 25 dots across (24 spaces) and 41 dots down (40 spaces). The pages are 120 gsm thick. There are no pre-printed pages, but the inside cover has a space for you to write your name.
The cover is a smooth, pebbled faux leather that feels pretty sturdy. There’s an elastic closure, one ribbon, and a back pocket; no pen loop.
I have already set one of these up to be my bullet journal for next 6 months, which depending on your style, is likely the maximum amounts of months you can get out of one, so with both, you can get a whole year’s worth. The other I plan on using for tracking my finances.
I have included a page with swatches of all the possible pens and markers I would use in this journal (sorry it doesn’t look pretty, ha). Since the pages are 120 gsm thick, there is hardly any ghostly and no bleeding, except for the Sharpie markers; those suckers bleed through everything! All your typical “artsy” pens and markers work great in this journal, including the Zebra Mildliners, Tombow Dual Brush Pens (I didn’t get them in time for this review, but they work great), Pentel Sign and Fude Touch pens, and Pigma Micron pens. My favorite pens for writing in this journal are the BIC Gel-ocity, uni-ball Signo 207, Paper-Mare Inkjoy Gel, Pentel Energel, Pentel Hybrid Technica, and Zebra Sarasa.
Overall, I think this 2-pack of dotted journals are a great value for anyone starting out with bullet journaling or who just want to save a little money. My only complaints are that I wish each journal would come with a little more pages each, 140 pages at least, because I hadn’t anticipated cutting out some of my tracker spreads, and that there was a pen loop somewhere on the journal.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2018The Booqool hardcover dot grid notebook is excellent. It is well made, with the little extras that more expensive notebooks (rhymes with "Dhole Vine") have, but with a dot grid that isn't offered but the better known brand. This notebook is the 8.25" x 5" (210mm x 125mm) size, with an elastic to hold it closed and a fan fold pocket inside the back cover. The paper is exceptionally heavy and resistant to bleed through. Instead of lines or graph, it has a grid of faint dots. I like this a lot better, as lines or graph is distracting when I draw, but writing with guides produces unsatisfactory results for me. The hard cover is also rigid enough for me to use the notebook well without a table or hard surface under it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buena compra sin duda. Yo repito.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bueno

You just can't go wrong with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've got a new go-to notebook -- or two
These notebooks are an outstanding value. They are nearly perfect, and for the price they really have no competition. The cover has a pleasant leather feel to it and a natural looking grain. Only a slight squeak as you handle it gives the game away. The board is nice and sturdy, but not to stiff or heavy. The elastic for holding it closed is neither too snug nor loose, though we'll have to see how continued use affects it. The ribbon bookmark is fine ... I don't use those things anyway. What I do use, and found it a surprising detail for a notebook at this price, is the pocket envelope in the back. I only keep a ruler in it, but it's an essential, and I'm used to having to glue my own pockets in. The binding seems quality, and while it perhaps doesn't lay as flat as the description may claim, it does stay open, which is all I care about. The real selling point for me, though, is that the paper is very nice. Good ivory colour, nice and thick without being stiff, my fountain and gel pens both dry rapidly (and no feathering from the fountain), and neither bleed through. (The card stock inside the cover doesn't boast that same quality, and there was smearage even after leaving it open five minutes to dry my gel pen.) The half-centimetre dot grid is perfect for me, though also pretty standard.
The only thing I really wished these notebooks had that they didn't was a pen loop. So I bought some: BronaGrand 5pcs Self-adhesive Leather Pen Holder with Elastic Loop for Notebooks, Journals,Calendars and Planners. I'm left with two notebooks which are perfect for me at a very nice price.
