About

DIET CIG IN CONCERT:

Garage rockers Diet Cig marry fuzzy guitars with cheerful melodies to create songs that provide plenty of bouncy fun for fans. The band switches from darling to snarling in the blink of an eye, and each compact musical outburst adds fuel to their blazing punk rock party. Frontwoman Alex Luciano twists and shouts through each anthemic melody, kicks her guitarís amplifier into overdrive, and bounds around the stage to the cathartic beat. Meanwhile drummer Noah Bowmanís surf-inspired rhythms help audiences ride the groove of standouts like ìScene Sickî, ìDinner Dateî, and ìPool Boyzî. The fun starts the second Diet Cig pick up their instruments, and ticket buyers will find themselves instantly swept up in the infectious beat of their playful rock.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singer/guitarist Alex Luciano and drummer Noah Bowman met at a 2014 house party when Luciano interrupted Bowmanís bandís set to ask for a lighter. Even though Bowman didnít have a light, the two SUNY New Platz students formed an instant friendship. Under the name Diet Cig, they put their own fun-loving spin on the punk and surf rock they loved. Their ten-minute-long debut EP Over Easy wowed editors at leading music publications like Pitchfork, Stereogum, Rolling Stone, and Spin. The critical praise caught the attention of Father/Daughter Records, who added the group to their roster, partially funded a national tour, and released their 7î follow-up single Sleep Walk/ Dinner Date. Diet Cigís riveting, enthusiastic live performances have left fans hungry for the groupís inevitable full-length debut.

    Super adorable!!!

I went to this concert mostly to see Great Grandpa, and I was beyond ecstatic to see them. They did an amazing job, and I could not be happier. Diet Cig was beyond adorable. Alex is such a cutie, and she made her set so fun to listen to and watch. The Spook School was a pleasant surprise since I hadn’t really listened to them before, too. The whole show was a lot of fun, and if I could see any of the three again (and I’m going to eventually), I absolutely would. Even if you don’t know them, it’s a fun show to see.

Diet Cig was so much fun!

    by MarM13 on 4/24/17The Masquerade - Atlanta

From having Alex come out and declaring the show a safe space to watching her jump around and dance with the crowd, the band really made the show feel inclusive, safe, and a lot of fun. They're such a high energy band with the catchiest songs and sweetest of people. I would definitely wanna see them again!

    Diet Cig are incredible!

by Bufferkiller on 9/23/15Masquerade - Atlanta

Diet Cig are a fairly new band that everyone needs to see and hear. Their energy is unlike that of any band I've seen in the last 20 years, and I am excited to see just how far they are going to go. Their first Atlanta show was incredible. From their opening band Femignome to their interactions with everyone at the merch table at the end of the night. It was an amazing show and I can't wait to see them again and again on future tours.
