I needed a new TV for the master bedroom. It sits in an armoire and a 32" diagonal is the largest that will fit. After researching the selection online, I decided on the Insignia™ - 32" Class (31.5" Diag.) - LED - 720p - HDTV. I didn't need a smart TV just wanted nice HDTV. One of the reasons I went with this one was the advertised DTS sound. More on that later. The TV itself is decent enough. The quality of construction was good with no apparent defects. Screen was perfect no bad areas and the lighting and brightness were fine. A good number of inputs, HDMI, USB, RCA, COAX, and Digital optical out for a TV of this size. Shouldn't be issues with hookups. The stand is just meh at best. Two plastic "V" shaped feet that screw on the bottom on the ends. Stable but flimsy and hard to swivel. Seems like the feet idea for the stand was just an afterthought. Like the manufacturer felt everyone would wall mount the TV anyways. The picture quality while only 720P looked spectacular hooked up to my DISH Hopper /Joey's. Crisp, clear, and easily seen from both the front and sides. Hard to believe you can get this good of a picture on a sub $120.00 TV. The Joey box instantly found the new remote for the TV and set it automatically. YAY!! No more hours of trying different codes. OK last but not least that advertised DTS sound. The speakers in this TV sound tinny. There's no other way to say it. They are plenty loud enough but the tone suffers. Not what I expected considering how well the rest of the TV is. Considering the very small and thin cabinets on these type of TV's I wasn't expecting theater quality sound but it could sound better. There is a tinniness to the speakers that IMO is annoying. It's easily heard even downstairs. I have the tone control on the TV set with the treble all the way down and the bass all the way up and have a towel under the speakers to muffle it a bit and yet it still has that certain frequency that sounds tinny. The TV sits inside the wardrobe so it's enclosed in a semi-box. With that setup it should increase the low frequencies but it still suffers poor tone from the internal speakers. In all fairness just about all of the TV's of this type have somewhat poor sound so it's hit or miss. My background as a musician tells me the TV speakers are cheap. There is plenty of power in the TV to drive them, they just can't reproduce decent sound. Sad because you have a DTS capable TV with crummy speakers. I won't return it though because the picture and hookups are ideal for my current use. I'll probably add a small soundbar down the road but I can't fit one in the wardrobe space right now. A decent TV worth the price but the sound suffers. That's just my opinion, yours may differ. I would recommend it but with a warning about the speakers. I've added pictures of the stand leg and the towel I placed under the speakers.

I think these TVs are the best for replacing arcade game monitors. They power on alone, when they sense an input and have a great picture. I've installed a lot of them and now and never had any problems with the TV straight from the box. I just installed a new 55 inch in our family room. The setup is fast and easy my 8 yr old handled the remote with me teaching and in less than 2 minutes we were watching something. Great quality. I will keep buying for our needs in the future, great price on these! Cons - it will not play video from the USB port, only photos. We like to keep kids movies on flash drives for the car and traveling. This model won't play any videos from the USB port.

Bought this TV for our guest room. Beautiful picture, easy to set up. I cut the cable over a year ago and this is the 3rd TV attached to our Moho 60 outdoor antenna. Great TV for under $100. Currently receiving over 50 channels. This would be a great TV for a college student as well. If you’re OK with 720p then you can use it in your living room as well. I don’t think there’s a big difference in resolution between 720 and 1080 dp with a 32 inch TV.
