A universal serum. I love to blow dry with this for shine and smoothness, create wet hair looks, cocktail with pomade for texture, "zip-up" dry ends or air dry...the possibilities are endless! This was created to be used on wet hair but I also use a drop or two to run through finished hair to tame "puffiness," creating more of a second day look.

How to:
1. Apply a pea-sized amount between your palms and rub them together.
2. Work into towel dried hair, focusing on the ends.
3. Blow dry or air dry as desired.
Tip: For additional shine and separation, add another drop or two once the hair is dried.

Q: What should the consistency of this feel like? Mine is quite watery, not oily like a serum should be.

The Weightless Shine Working Serum has a lightweight consistency and was designed so it can be easily cocktailed with the other products in the Kristin Ess Hair Collections. You can use it to blow dry or cocktail it with the Leave-In Conditioner for detangling or Blow Dry Mist for heat protection, or just use it to smooth your ends. I really like this serum, but I think the key is pairing it with a few key products depending on how you plan on styling your hair. I have 2B/2C hair, which I occasionally will have keratin treated just for extra convenience. When I use this serum in conjunction with my other heat protecting products, I can get a really flat, straight style that lasts even sleeping on after letting my hair naturally air dry and then flat ironing the next day. I also like using this product when not doing an at home blowout. I think it seals the cuticle well!

I have kind of thin and really dry hair. Especially as I've got older my hair has been drier then ever. This serum works so well! Never makes my hair greasy. I use a lot more than a pea size amount on damp hair before I blow dry and I use it when it's dry, too, makes my hair soft and shiny. Expensive but so worth it.

I paid for this product with my own money. I have chemically relaxed hair and wanted to find a product that would protect my long, relaxed ends. I was especially interested in this product because it contains chitosan, a marine ingredient that brought me consistently good results in past hair, skincare, and oral formulations. Simply put, this serum felt crunchy. I don’t like to waste things, so I cocktailed it a drop of castor oil and smoothed it into my damp hair. The end result was passable, so I will continue to use it in this way until I finish the bottle. I will not repurchase.

I love this serum. The scent is strong but once your hair dries, it leaves a light scent. My hair is wavy, I also wear it blown out and this makes it way less frizzy even in humidity. I use 2 pumps for hair that’s about 5 inches past shoulder length, I work it all over my hair like hand sanitizer and then slowly work it into my hair. Also, the price is incredible for how long this lasts me.

Definitely helps my hair not be all frizzy after a shower. I pair it with their basic shampoo and conditioner and they all work good together. It doesn’t leave my hair oily or crunchy either.
