- Sinead M3 contributionsGreat day outWe came for a day trip and with our two 11 year olds and loved this place. So much to do and so beautiful. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, My two loved the zip wire and tree top adventure. I do wish we had brought a picnic as lots of lovely places to sit and eat. SineadGood afternoon, Thank you for your fantastic review! We love to hear from our guests and it is great to hear how much you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! - SUvcha57 contributionsAmazing holidayWe had an Amazing stay, even with the showers the children still enjoyed the river activities, the pirate ship was fun, and the swinging ropes. We enjoyed the high ropes and zip wire, staff were very helpful and supportive with the little ones being scared. The cafe we had breakfast which was all inclusive once paid for and came with everything. All nice produce. The shop is well stocked and has most things. Lots to do on the park, couldn’t fault it, toilets could do with a revamp, when you shower there is nothing to protect your clean clothes or towel from the water but this didn’t effect our stay. This is our second stay and we will definitely returnGood afternoon, Thank you very much for your fantastic review. It certainly sounds as though you had an amazing time and enjoyed your stay with us. Your comments are great to hear! We look forward to welcoming you back again when you return! - SurreyLincolnshire41 contributionsPerfect camping holidayAn amazing place to visit with family, so much to do and feels very safe to allow your children to explore alone. Shower blocks were incredibly clean and the whole place was constantly being cleaned throughout our week long stay. Absolutely loved the Saw Mill, good value for money and very tasty food that was served piping hot and served quickly. Breakfast there is a must! £12 adults/£7.50 kids, huge selection, fresh & tasty and the lovely lady who runs the service shuts it late at her discretion if people are still coming in. Brekkie set us up for the whole day. The whole place is dog friendly including the shop and saw mill, however I felt a bit sorry for our pooch as she just wanted to be let off lead to explore, so the only thing that I would love to see added is a fenced off dog exercise section. Theres a small shop on site stocking essentials. We looked forward to a bbq, alas they don’t stock veggie burgers so we just used the restaurant instead (made my life easier, no washing up). I’d recommend to anyone to stay here. We stayed right at the back of the field pitch 83, it was a perfect spot for being less busy and we could hear the river flowing at night which helped us sleep - was level too! Thank you team!Good morning, Many thanks for your fantastic review! We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed a wonderful stay with us. Thanks to Joe the warden who helped us move our caravan, all staff were so helpful. The pitches are a great size and the showers are always hot. Our kids go off on their bikes and the park feels safe to allow them to do this which I love. The food and staff at the restaurant were really good. - Willow C6 contributionsAwesome tree top trail!River Dart Country Park was amazing! There are lots of wonderful adventures you can have there. The best part personally for me were the high ropes. At first they seemed very scary, but after a while it began to feel incredible! As well as the high ropes there are loads of awesome adventure playgrounds which all kids will love! Only thing was that sadly the gift shop wasn’t open… but other than that the trip was spectacular!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 October 2023

Just come back from a last minute weekend away in our trailer tent here and we were blown away by how amazing it was. So much for the kids to do, the river was gorgeous, the play parks are endless and brilliant and the site is lovely and well maintained. We had a big pitch with electric and check in was super easy. I also want to add (especially seeing some other negative views to the contrary) that we were incredibly impressed by the smiles/helpfulness and attitude of the very young people (mostly lads) working here. Nothing was too much trouble and they were kind and patient with our children. We'll definitely be coming back.

Visited with 2 adults and 3 pre teens today, first time for us since we were kids. We just paid the admission to get in and didn't pay for any extras as we didn't really want to pay any extra money for anything today. Just really wanted to enjoy the lake and cool off in the heatwave!
We spent a good couple of hours in and around the lake, which even though was fairly busy felt really peaceful surrounded by all the trees, the kids also went off to explore the assault course and zip wire area which was great, and was lovely and cool in the shade!
We stayed around 4 and 1/2 hours but could easily have stayed for longer, especially if we had booked one of the other activities to do. The kids all want to go back to have a go at the canoeing and maybe the high ropes course so will definitely be back a couple of times next year! Can't believe we haven't visited with our kids before seeing as we only live 20 mins down the road! I think it was the cost that put us off but actually considering what we pay for an hour in our local swimming pool it's really good value, especially on a sunny day!
We took a picnic so can't say what the food is like there, but we did get ice creams from the oasis snack hut, which i would like the management to know we were served by a really friendly young man called Ryan. He was incredibly polite and courteous to everyone he served, which made it a very pleasant experience.
Anyway thankyou River Dart Country Park we will return!!!

Me and my girlfriend are new to mountain biking and wanted to check out the bike park. We saw online videos of the bike park and thought it would be perfect for us to practice some basic skills. We are local to Plymouth so distance would mean that visiting the bike park would be a regular occurrence.
That's until we realised the ridiculous pricing for this park. Initially £4.00 each for a day sounds real good. Don't mind paying for parking on top of that but then you realise that you get charged a crazy amount just to enter the grounds. £40 to visit the bike park is insane, this place really needs to look at their pricing. There are plenty of other places that you can visit in the same area that offer the same activities for a fraction of the price.
If you are going to charge an entry fee, at least include some fun activities in the price but there just isn't any. The website states when you purchase a day ticket that "many activities included in the price" but if you actually look there's only the tennis courts included which you need to bring your own rackets and balls for. Not looking at the hiring of equipment which should be an extra cost. Bike park, high ropes, zip wire, climbing experience, caving, and bouldering room, are all not included in the price.
I would love to visit this bike park but I cannot justify paying the ridiculous price.

Used to come to this site as a kid and wanted to return with my family. Still lives up to the memory as a kid and me and the family with 2 young girls loved camping here. Will 100% be back again!
Pros:
Site itself is great and relatively nice flat pitches
Amazing setting with woodlands all around
Loads to do on site and kids were well and truly exhausted from all the activities.
Only used the restaurant for breakfast on one day, but was good and the food i did see being served for lunch and dinner looked good.
Cons:
It was bank holiday so maybe to be expected, but there were some very loud groups partying until late. Didnt appear to be any action from River Dart to ask them to be quiet come 11pm. My advice from the site would be to maybe group larger group bookings in one place to avoid families with young children being kept awake.
Toilet bloc to be fair is cleaned on a regular basis and they do their best to curtail the mud being dragged in from the woodlands and fields. But they could do with being updated. Showers okay, but if all in use can run to nothing but a dribble of water.
Shop is okay, too many naff toys on offer, would be nice if there was more produce and stuff for a bbq. But its open i think until 9.30pm which is a positive as a lot of site shops shut early.

Had a great few days in our caravan despite the wet British weather. Thanks to Joe the warden who helped us move our caravan, all staff were so helpful. The pitches are a great size and the showers are always hot. Our kids go off on their bikes and the park feels safe to allow them to do this which I love.
The food and staff at the restaurant were really good. So impressed with the take away tubs, was a great option when place was very busy because of wet weather. The buffet breakfast was also really good, highly recommend that.

Good morning,
Thank you for sharing your review with us and we are sorry to hear that you felt our cash-free payment systems were unwelcoming.
We introduced the card or contactless payment methods to make paying easier, more convenient, and more streamlined for our visitors. Many visitors prefer these methods of payment and since introducing it before the pandemic, it has been very successful.
Thank you once again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back again in the near future.
Best wishes,

Fantastic campsite and park with so much for young families and kids to run around. Climbing. Cycling all day long in a wooded environment. Camped in the far corner slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the central area but was great

We are bringing the dogs (and kids!) this summer, can anyone help with nearest dog friendly beaches? Thanks

There are roughly around 12 beaches in South Devon that are dog friendly

Hi, we want to use one of the car chargers on our visit. Do we have to book or is it first come first served?
Thanks

Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend any dog friendly beaches and pubs nearby please? Also pony trekking. Thanks very much
As a day tripper are you allowed to smoke

I'm afraid I don't know - the website mentions not being able to smoke in the accommodation but I'm not sure about the park as a whole. I'd be surprised if not, given its size/outdoor nature, but they are helpful on the phone so I'd get in touch.

What do you think is the best field for camping please (electric pitch)? We have two boys age 5 and 9. On our first stay last year we were in Picnic Meadow, our tent backed onto a small stream. I think this year we’d enjoy being on the other side of Picnic Meadow (next to the river, under the trees) so we can have a swim in the river and net fish for tiddlers before breakfast, without having to cross other peoples pitches.
However as there are several camping fields I wondered which ones other people would recommend? We prefer peaceful over busy and don’t mind being further from the activities as long as we’re close to the river. Thanks so much.

Hello we are visiting at the end of August for the first time with similar aged children, we’d be interested in which field you’d recommend, due to the popularity and demand we have non electric pitch (sadly!), many thanks
Hello,
Im reading a lot of reviews about people being disappointed as they are on slopes. Can anyone recommend a pitch that isnt ?? Thanks
If i camp without electrical hook up is there somewhere I can plug my straighteners in to do my hair?

Are there seasonal pitches here? Ones when you can leave your caravan all season and stay whenever you like?

We are arriving next Saturday and just wondering what the WIFI reception is like.......teenagers will need it!!!

We didn’t use the WiFi but the reception seemed to be good. My phone kept trying to connect to it in the tent, restaurant and around the park. I’m sure if you call reception they’ll try to get you a pitch where you can get it. It was good value at £2 for 24 hours (up to 3 devices). I didn’t think my son would survive without it but there is so much to do he just about managed.
How much do the additional prices range from thinking of visiting for the day

£5 for 5 minutes on the zorb. Doesn't sound much but it's probably about enough time. I think it was 17 pounds for the high ropes and 3 pounds for the donkey ride
