We have ongoing engagement with several UK Police divisions in establishing the most productive way to deliver active realtime crime data to Police forces when a bike is being stolen. The Police are keen to use real time data to catch thieves and retrieve stolen bikes. iTrakit can supply this data both via it's anti-tamper alerts and it's real-time tracking capabilities.
Problem: lack of data
Currently, the Police struggle to help cyclists because they lack accurate data:- When was the bike stolen? Which direction did it go? - even simple information like the frame number, distinguishing features and a photo.
Solution: iTrakit, the Cycling Community and the Police
Using iTrakit, individuals can provide Police with much more data increasing the chances of bike retrieval. The whole cycling community benefits from the data of individual thefts because iTrakit can build up an exact picture to show precisely when and where thefts are occurring, greatly assisting the Police in the fight against cycle crime.
The iTrakit urban tracker fits sweetly into any bicycle frame, giving you the peace of mind you know that you have one eye on your bike at all times.

Just about everyone has had their bike nicked in town. Bike jacking jerks helping themselves to your ride is seemingly an urban inevitability and the sense of helplessness is compounded by existing anti theft devices either not working or being eye-wateringly priced, usually both. Riders have HAD ENOUGH and are desperate for a reliable and affordable solution.
The new iTrakit urban tracker fits inside your bike frame, is smart, energy efficient, lightweight and affordable.
Key stats:
Thieves walk off with one bike every jaw-dropping six minutes.
We are in a genuine cycle crime wave, UK bicycle crime has risen 21% since 2017
Recent Police data shows a miniscule 1.5% of the last reported 250,000 bike thefts (that’s reported thefts, let alone the real total) led to a conviction. No surprises here for long suffering city cyclists.
Current retrieval rates for stolen bikes are a risible 5%. We all know that once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Fitting a tracker into the frame has always the ultimate goal but it’s been impossible to do until today.
The easy places like handlebars, top-caps or seat posts are bang obvious and thieves remove them with ease.
iTrakit fits right inside the frame so it’s impossible to see and hard to reach.
iTrakit has a universal design so that it can be retrofitted into almost every bike. If your frame size is north of 26.5mm - and almost every bike is - it fits.

We all know the fear that when you come back to your beautiful machine, someone will have stolen it.
We are the founders of iTrakit, Pete and Cosmo, and together we’ve had 8 bikes stolen so we know the gut-wrenching confusion you feel when your bike is stolen.
After the last two bike thefts involving the loss of one garden gate and one bike ripped from a locked car cycle rack – “Enough is enough" – we had to find a better way.
We wanted a tracker that was affordable, worked inside the bike frame, had a 12-month battery life and sent real time tracking data to your smartphone. The problem was it didn’t exist so our only option was to build one – iTrakit was born.
We’ve carefully assembled a team of specialists who cumulatively nail all the disciplines needed for iTrakit’s success. The Team has run companies in tech, finance, media and wireless network sectors, so we have all the know-how.
So join us and support our Indiegogo campaign. Together we can fight back against bike crime and you always keep one eye on your bike.

“We want a world where the rise in bike theft isn’t seen as inevitable and just accepted as a fact of urban life. A world where bike owners can fight back with smart solutions to help the police by giving them all the data they need to do their job of retrieving our stolen property.”
iTrakit, 2019
Lack of data is the reason 90% bike thefts are never investigated in the UK. Lack of data? In this interconnected world?
Smartphone + tracker = data
If you are serious the Environment you must be serious about bike theft. Why? Because 20% of victims of reported bike theft don’t return to cycling.
