Bargain Vacuum with Good Performance
With tax this vacuum cost about $43. It picks up stuff from the carpet quite well. You have your choice of strictly vacuum or the roller beater. The latter takes more muscle to push around. It comes with a very long electrical cord so you can go quite a long ways without plugging in again. The only negatives so far is i haven't figured out exactly how one of the attachments goes onto upper part of the handle and there doesn't seem to be a headlight.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Zero hose suction. Machine looks new, no obstruction but no suction.
Machine looks great, new filters and all tools. There is zero suction from the hose and from the machine before the hose indicating no obstruction. Floor seems to have some suction but when I put my hand on the base/brush, there is barely any suction either. The brush looks new and turns on/off properly. All filters are new/clean and the container emptied of debris when tested. Hose does not have any blockage. Powerful but noisy vacuum
Very powerful vacuum with great suction and soil and pet hair removal abilities. Easy to empty when needed and filters easy to access and clean or replace. Rather heavy compared to its competitors. Much lighter than anticipated
Based on previous reviews I anticipated this vacuum unit to be much heavier and tougher to maneuver than my Oreck XL - I did not find that to be true. Also read complaints about the unit being tough to use due to its suction, the machine has multiple settings. A `floor' setting on pile carpet, sure, the machine's going to do its job - likely an operator issue. I suspect the hose tool could pull a gerbil outta a Gere sphincter, quite possibly a toy poodle!. I was actually shocked to see what my Oreck had been missing [no dust/odor either]! As this is re-manufactured, I have rated 4 stars with a wait and see attitude. Great Bargain!!
Added to my existing fleet of vacuums at the beach -- one per level. Took this unit for a test drive and seems to work fine. Real test will come this summer -- keeping up with tracked in sand. Had a very similar unit by Hoover for midlevel that I like but with cord rewind. Upper level one is now about 5 years old, needs a bag and cord rewind has broken ... so I went with this. All of these are great as long as then don't need to be carried down stairs (or used on stairs). I use a corded Shark handheld for the stairs with rotating bar. Hoover High Performance Upright Bagless Upright Vacuum(Refurbished)
The suction on this vacuum is awesome. I especially like the 50 ft cord, I can plug it in and reach all of my carpets without moving to another plug. It's easy to push and easy to clean the dust cup. I love Hoover vacuums. This is the second vacuum I've bought refurbished, which I got at a very low price, and have had such good luck with them. Sucks harder than a tornado in the south. Seriously, really good!
Seriously, this thing is epic. Still mostly plastic on the exteripr, but, unlike cheaper vacuums, this has a but of quality and detail to it. The quality of plastics is higher, the quality of molds and designing are better too. This thing is no louder than any other vacuum I have ever owned, with the brush ruler off. But, turn that on (it can be disengaged on the fly with a foot pedal fit quick switching between carpet and hardwood floors - nice), and it is rather loud. You definitely know those brushes are spinning. I am fine with that, but some may be snowflakes about noise (or have sleeping babies - I understand not wanting THIS vacuum if you have a baby and relish a little nap time). If you aren't whisper-thirsty... THIS Vacuum will suck the ghosts out of a haunted carpet. I literally only have two rooms with carpet and a hallway, yet this sucker nearly filled its canister on the FIRST use! Seriously, I pulled up enough dirt, dust, sand dander, and dog fur that I ended up with about two pounds of filth to dump once I was done (and I only vacuumed the master bedroom and hall!!!). If you can get this vacuum for....... under $150, grab it! Easy to assemble, easy to use, very sturdy, very VERY well made for the price I bought mine at, and DOES A DAMN GOOD JOB. Did I mention it works on bare floors too?

Hoover Vac
