Q: When the clean light comes on how do you clean it?
A: Add 4 cups white vinegar where the water goes. Place a filter in the basket. Press select until it goes to Clean. The process will take about an hour. After cleaning throw out filter and vinegar. Do one cycle with clean water to flush. Done!
Q: Is there an auto shut off feature?
A: Yes there is, after 2 hours it shuts itself off
A: Yes, you do need to buy filter, the regular basket kind will work just fine and the little coffee scooper to measure you coffee. I love this coffee maker for a medium priced coffee maker. I got it on sale and it was replacing a really expensive one as a temporary drip coffee maker for something I could keep for whenever I have problems with the big dogs which you always do. I'm tired of spending money on them so I"m just enjoying this one for now.
A: Yes that is normal w new design but once coffee grinds are added it stays in fine. Think getting rid of old filter like plastic above carafe makes it easier to replace carafe than old design.
Q: Cam you program it to start in the morning?
A: Yes, but we don’t use that feature.
Q: Does the carbon water filter need to be changed? How often and where can I find it?
A: Does it NEED to be changed? I don't know. We purchased a bag of a couple of dozen on Amazon. (They were cheap) and we put in a new one every month. They sit on top of the "basket" and are not in some hard to find place.
