I seen someone with this camera, and was intrigued. I am very picky on style and quality. I’m personally not a fan of the hype with ring cameras, but google nest cameras are also cute. I do not like how vivint isn’t easily accessible to just shop for their products. Vivint reviews were also far too many stating they’re terrible to get in contact with. I settled for the Arlo, and it’s been a little over three months. I also bought the indoor essential camera to add coverage, to my momentum indoor camera since I can’t find that brand anymore. These two brands have me sold, especially with their apps, video and sound qualities. I love it and I’m about to purchase two more doorbell cameras as birthday gifts for family. I will be looking to get there entire camera system in the future for new residence properties as long as things stay good with this brand.

Hope it last longer than the wired version.
Picture quality is exceptional, battery life will need to evaluated over time. Cold weather seems to reduce battery life substantially. Requires subscription for cliud storage.

I don’t have any complaints about my Arlo! Super easy to set up and hang (I used command Velcro instead of the screws that came with it, bc I’m in an apartment). It has variety of settings to personalize your experience. It recognizes animals, people, and packages. When someone rings the doorbell, it also calls your phone.

The only issue I see is that the video quality seems a little fuzzy. Other than that it was a breeze to set it up and mount and I haven't had any issues with it. It has great motion detection as I have had multiple motion detection notifications when I wake in the morning from a cat that has been lurking around my house in the middle of the night.

We replaced our original Arlo doorbell w/o a camera and this one is MUCH BETTER! The clarity of the videos and ease of setup were a pleasant surprise. We also purchased this one after buying the 2nd generation, but it was not compatible with our Arlo 2 cameras.

I’ve been looking at and considering video doorbells for a few years now. I waited on the whole smart home thing for a few reasons. Anyway, I had been considering a Ring for a while, but the features and price for Arlo were so much better. I love the 180° view on the doorbell and it’s great to be able to designate activity zones so that I’m not getting a ton of unnecessary notifications. I snagged it at a great price too. Happy that I waited. Thanks Arlo!

Most epic purchase ever!!! Clear videos, great zoom and awesome features on the app! Gives us comfort to know while we're out of town. I can still check in on the house on all cameras. The battery life is pretty rad so far, they've only had to be charged once in 2-3 months but mainly because we have a dog door , mamy animals and alot of guests! Haha! I love that I can talk to my animals and peeps thru the app while that are at my house and they can communicate back to me as well!!! All in all I am impressed! I have and will continue to gloat about these especially for the price that I paid for all of them! Furthermore the fact that they work without requiring a hub!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! THANX ARLO AND BEST BUY, YOU GUYZ ROCK!
A:AnswerWhile you can use an adhesive strip on the door, I don't think it would be recommended as it would be easily to be removed/stolen. However, you can do on the side of the door on the wall and mount it with anchors/screws (included). That being said, if installed properly ARLO will replace any stolen equipment.
A:AnswerDuring the free, 3 month, trial period your doorbell videos are stored in your account in the Arlo Cloud for 30 days. As each video ages out it is automatically deleted. At anytime during the 30 days you can download and save videos to your computer. At the end of the 3 month trial period if you decline the $9.99 a month subscription, your videos are only stored for 7 days. At any time during those 7 days you can download and save the videos to your computer.
A:AnswerDepending on which base station or SmartHub you're using, the only way to view local recordings may be to eject the storage device and view from a PC.
If you have a VMB4540 or VMB5000 SmartHub, you can utilize Direct Storage Access as detailed here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062337/What-is-Direct-Storage-Access-and-how-do-I-use-it
A:AnswerThe Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free comes with a rechargeable Li-ion battery. The expected battery life for the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell (wire-free version) is 6 months. Battery life is based on usage of 4000 seconds motion streaming per month, 30 seconds per two-way call daily, and day/night event splits 2:1. This will vary with device settings, use, activity captured and environmental factors.
A:AnswerI forgot to say, the existing transformer could be broken, test it with a multimeter to see if it's giving out power or check if it's on it's own fuse if the electrics are old. You can also test the wiring with a multimeter.
It would work out much cheaper to simply buy a new transformer.
