I received this item from the Spark Reviewer program and was asked to provide an unbiased review. The Gotham Steel 12-Piece Nonstick Frying Pan and Cookware Set provides all the essentials you need to start cooking. The set is visually appealing with the dark exterior and copper color on the interior. The handles are all metal with no plastic and are riveted to the cookware. The cookware feels very solid when in your hands. The instructions state the items are oven safe to 500 degrees and are dishwasher safe. I can't attest this either of these because I've never used my cookware in the oven and I prefer to hand wash my cookware. I can say that I have had no issues with sticking so far and washing the cookware has been very easy. The set is made of aluminum with the inside coating made of titanium and ceramic. Since the items are made of aluminum, this cookware cannot be used with induction top stoves. The instructions state the cookware is metal utensil safe…I didn't try it and most of my utensils are plastic. The set comes with three pots, three pans, one steamer insert and five lids. The lids are glass with vent holes for steam and have metal handles. I have used most of the items and have enjoyed them. Overall, I am impressed with the design and craftsmanship of the cookware…my hope is I will receive many years of use from this set. I would recommend the Gotham Steel 12-Piece Nonstick Frying Pan and Cookware Set to anyone seeking a starter set or replacement set.

Nice Set of Cookware

I really enjoy this set it is a great update to replace several old pots and pans that were in great need of replacing. There are some in the set that I haven't used yet but overall for the ones I have, I'm really impressed with them. 

My favorite of the bunch is the squared pan I use it most often out of the lot. I haven't had a squared pan before so I'm not sure if they are supposed to have such a prominently lifted spot in the middle of them as mine does. Going by the stock photos from walmart they don't seem to be. However I haven't found it to hinder the items usage. I find it has helped to spread the butter or cooking oil out to the corners to help evenly coat things. Although you don't need either, I still like to use a bit. 

I have had some of these copper non stick skillets previously and the instructions required them to be conditioned first with oil and used in an oven, these didn't have any such instructions that I found. I don't know if they just don't require it or have already been pre-treated. I don't have an oven so I can't treat them myself anyway. I haven't had a problem yet though with them sticking. I suppose time will tell.

Great set

I haven't had a new set of pans since my husband and I got married, so when I received these, I was ecstatic! Cooking for my family with two boys, my husband and I, having nonstick pans are a lifesaver! I read on these that you AREN'T even supposed to use non-stick cooking spray, or butter or oil at the absolute minimum! These are NICE pans that I feel are very durable and will last a good while in our household! It comes with 8.5-inch GOTHAM STEEL Frying Pan, 10.25-inch GOTHAM STEEL Frying Pan Lid for 10.25-inch Pan, 9.5-inch Shallow Square Pan with Lid, 1.5-quart GOTHAM STEEL Pot Lid for 1.5-Quart Pot, 2.5-Quart GOTHAM STEEL Pot Lid for 2.5-Quart Pot, 5-Quart GOTHAM STEEL Pot Lid for 5-Quart Pot and Aluminum Steamer Insert. This 12 piece set has everything you need to get to cooking. There are not as many lids as there are pans, but the lids do fit the pots given to you so they are interchangeable. There is a ceramic component that does not change the taste of your food after cooking nor does the non-stick titanium plus ceramic coating come off. It does state in the instructions to not use metal objects (like forks, knives, whisks, etc.) when cooking or using cleaning wool brushes or things that will be harsh on the non-stick coating. These are high-quality pans and it says if you have any complaints, to let the company know! I feel like it is backed by a guarantee to fix it for you! I love the GOTHAM STEEL signature brand on each of the pan handles! Makes it look like restaurant-high-quality cookware! The 12 piece Gotham Steel Frying Pan and Cookware Set is the way to go!

I am so excited to share how well this cookware exceeded my expectations. My first use was with the 10.25 fry pan . I decided to fry myself an egg without any grease or butter added. It cooked the egg and I was able to flip egg to other side without any sticking. Slid right out the fry pan. Next, I wanted to steam some veggies and used the 5 Quart Pot filled halfway with tap water and placed the Aluminum Steamer on top and placed my cauliflower inside and placed the Lid on top and again , my food was cooked perfectly and so easy to clean. With my 9.5 inch square pan with lid I decided to make some ooey gooey grilled cheese sandwiches. I loaded the cheese on them purposely to have the cheese run over sides and onto the pan. No mess, no stress the sandwiches turned out perfectly and no sticking to pan at all. One more dish I wanted to try was in the 5 quart pot with lid was some turkey chili from scratch . The pot of chili was yummy and the pot was easily cleaned with nothing sticking to it. Over all I used êvery piece in this cookware set and no sticking , no mess and cooked everything exceptional. I know with this Gotham Steel 12-Piece Nonstick Frying Pan and Cookware Set all my food creations will be less stress and no mess!

EXCEPTIONAL COOKWARE!

Oh my gosh this is THE BEST cookware I have ever owned and used!!  Check out the photos I took.  I cooked up some Brown n Serve sausages this morning and I like them crispy on the outside, almost burned.   With my other cookware, the sausages would stick to the bottom so badly, the bottom of the pan would have so much leftover food I'd have to soak it.  These pans cooked the sausages PERFECTLY and all that was left behind in the pan was the grease!!!  The other picture was from the hamburger helper I made last night which also didn't stick AT ALL and I just rinsed this one a little, everything came right off except a little around the edge.  Super easy to wash too!!  I'm just so very impressed already and can't wait to cook more with these!!

Love, love, love this cookware set!!!

Quality cookware is essential in any home. From making simple things like mac-and-cheese from the box, to complicated dishes a French chef would love, we all need the proper tools to work in the kitchen. I'm not a prolific cook, but I do use my pots and pans frequently enough that I do not enjoy using frustrating or deficient equipment. The Gotham Steel 12-Piece Nonstick Frying Pan and Cookware Set that I've been using lately has worked fabulously for me! I love the nonstick surface on all of the main pieces. I haven't had to use nonstick spray for them once (In fact, you're not supposed to use spray at all). They are sturdy without being cumbersome. I love the lids that come with the set. They are transparent, so you can check on what your cooking easily without lifting the lid. Each one also comes with a small release hole, perfect for letting out a bit of steam so that your liquids are less likely to boil over onto your stove top. The only drawback I've found thus far is the heat conduction in the handles. After the items have been cooking for a while, the handles of the lids, pots and pans do get a bit hot. It's important to take care and use a hot pad of some sort to protect your hands. Other than that, I have been thoroughly happy with this set, and have been able to weed out of my collection pieces that were far inferior to these.

Great Pan & Cookware Set!

Pros
 - Honestly doesn't need any oil or butter to keep food from sticking. I tested this with breaded okra, which is always difficult for me to get browned without losing most of the breading to the pan. These pans, due to the nature of the cooking surface, will require you to alter or adjust your cooking habits. The okra crisped up and wasn't a dark brown, but a light brown and I used no oil or butter - just poured it right out of the bag frozen. Loved it! The okra came out perfect.
 - Pan sizes are good. I liked the sizes they came in - just right for most of my cooking needs. The steamer basket is a welcome addition to encourage steaming fresh veggies.
 - Heat transfer is quick on the electric stove top.
 - I used several different utensils on the surface with success: wooden, plastic, and metal.
 - Easy to clean both by hand and in the dishwasher. I used a green abrasion pad (the one NOT for non-stick surfaces) to clean the rivets on the inside of the pan that hold on the handle. I saw no damage to the non-stick surface around the rivets when I was done cleaning.

Cons
 - I would have liked a smaller sauce pan instead of the large round fry pan - keep the large square one.
 - Scrambled eggs form a thin layer on the pan that comes up/doesn't stick, then mixes with the eggs. This is just a pet peeve I have about non-stick ware and scrambled eggs.
 - On the fry pans, you can see the metal stamping through to the inside of the pan. It didn't make any difference besides cosmetic, but gives the impression that the pans are thin.
 - The handles on the lids heat up.

Gladly changing my cooking habits for these pans!

Says "no oil or butter needed". NO! I cooked an egg in the 'large' skillet. It stuck. Every single new non stick pan I've ever bought can slide anything out of the pan for the 1st couple of times before it falls apart! This 12 piece medium weight set has 5 lids; 2 are the same size (10.5" skillet & 5 qt pan). Like that it is free of PTFE/PFDA/PFOA. Nice looking. All pans are small but still not good for small spaces because they have different size lids and just seem redundant. Lids & pans are oven safe; that means there are no covers on lid or pan handles - BE CAREFUL OF BURNS. Not good instructions.

No better than other 'non sticks'

These are not as advertised. Yes they can be nonstick *if* you add oil to them first. However as far as being true nonstick with no oil, um afraid you will find yourself with burned bits on your pans. They are lightweight and heat up fast due to being thin. The handles do not have any protective insulation over them. While the handles do no get immediately hot, they will eventually the longer they sit or if the heat is high enough. The handles are also a bit awkward to grasp and not ergonomic. The set does come with a good variety of pans and pots with even a strainer. The warranty paper that comes with it has some weird wording to it that honestly makes it sound like a hassle to ever try to claim it. If you take care of these like any regular nonstick - keeping them scratch free by using non abrasive utensils and materials, adding oil to the pans first and keeping them clean, then they are decent pots and pans. However, dont buy them thinking they are something special and different.

Not as advertised

They said you could use a metal spatula; I did when I made pancakes.  I followed instructions used olive oil to coat all pans after I washed them by hand and I have a scratch.  Ordered online now I have to go out of my way to return.  I didnt mind sending back one pan back but now I was was told by customer service to return it to Walmart.  Thanks a lot for nothing.  Please see attached photo.  So much for using metals with this pan.
