‎Whilst staying outdoors and getting close to nature, why not stay in one of our cosy wooden pods. They provide a few simple indoor comforts and you'll appreciate their special design to keep the heat out when it gets hot, and the warmth and dryness when the weather takes a turn for the worst. Staying with us you’ll notice how dark it gets at night; very dark. Great for stargazing.

Perfect for that weekend away, or even a week-long holiday, our cosy camping pods offer the chance to relax without having to pitch a tent yourself. So, whether you’re a couple looking to explore the area, or a family hoping to experience some adventures together, camping pods provide an opportunity for an easy get away.

The pods at Teneriffe Farm are more basic compared to some of those at our other National Trust campsites. Clustered together, in the central area of the campsite a stone’s throw from all the essential facilities, there are 4 pods together; so be prepared for a sociable stay rather than complete privacy. But there is plenty of space between each pod and a lovely grass area for outdoor games like badminton or boules. Cars are parked a short distance away. They are a great way to experience the enjoyment of camping but with a little luxury of a warm, dry place to sleep. Kids (and adults) just love them - it’s like staying in a den!

Our pods are generously sized and can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 3 children, with internal dimensions of 3.5m (11ft 6in) x 2.7m (8ft 8in) and a 2.2m (7ft 2in) head room. Built in solid treated timber; for the cooler months there's sheep wool insulation inside the walls for warmth, and when it's hot, there's a special foil layer under the roof to help keep summer temperatures down. French doors lead to an outside wooden decking area; perfect to sit out on to have your meals or just to enjoy a lovely evening and watch the sun go down.

The pods do not contain any camping equipment at all. Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent. You will therefore need to bring with you everything you would bring if you were camping in your tent, i.e. sleeping bags (or duvets or other suitable bedding), sleep mats (if you prefer), pots and pans, the stove, camping chairs, torch etc. The pods are unfurnished, but each pod is equipped with a comfortable low pile carpeted base on which to sleep (there are no beds), lighting, an oil filled electric radiator, and a double electric socket. Each pod also comes with a sleeping mattress for each person.

As with staying in a tent, all cooking is performed outside of the pod. You may wish to consider bringing a windbreak and a gazebo. Also, provided for your exclusive use is a wooden circular table & seating unit, perfect for you to sit down to eat and enjoy your campsite cooking.

Are you flexible as to when you can come and stay with us? Mid-week prices are often lower than at a weekend, and visiting the Lizard in May, June or September is often quieter.

Pods are available from 2pm on your day of arrival until 11am on the day of departure.

We are so sorry but unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs in our pods. On this occasion your four-legged friend will have to go on holiday with friends or family.
