Awesome, the story concept art style was different and fresh. Very real yet trippy.
It was a bit short though.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2011Brendan McCarthy is a renowned designer and UK comic book legend of excellent psychedelic sensibilities. Therefore, it only stands to reason that he'd write and draw a miniseries starring two of Marvel's most lysergic characters, both born from the pencil of visionary artist Steve Ditko. This book is simply beyond words. The colourful surreal imagery is entrancing, the story is engaging and deeply symbolic, the writing is nearly flawless. Both characters shine at their very best, true to roots and, in spite of the many tips of the hat to the Sixties, both feel still very contemporary. There are many hints of underground comics, as well as occult references, that might all have found place in a Ditko or even a Alan Moore comic. Is it any wonder both this and Moore's Dodgem Logic surfaced in the last couple of years? Surely not, at least if you believe in synchronicity.
If you too love perfectly crafted, deep, loving storytelling, you'd do yourself a favour to get this for your reading pleasures and book collection!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2014This story was fun for the sheer randomness that is the Astral Plane, and I really love how Dr. Strange and Spider-man just go with the flow of it, because weird days just happen. The book is great for the art. So much thought was put into it. The dialog was a bit weak from time to time, but I didn't really find it too detracting. Some events did seem too random, and I think the author was trading a little too hard on the idea that the ways of the Astral Plane are not rooted in reality.
Now, I sort of want to read a longer story of nomadic Spidey roaming the insect badlands and righting wrongs.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2012I liked this book. I didn't think the story was superb or anything but this book was still a fun read. I actually really enjoyed the psychedelic/retro art style. Be warned that this story is only 3 issues long. Kinda short.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spider-Man and Doctor Strange united again!
Spider-Man: Fever is a fast-pacing, easy read adventure which brings the team-up of Spider-Man with Doctor Strange. The graphic novel collects together issues 1-3 of the limited series and boasts some of the most psychodelic artwork ever seen since artist Steve Ditko produced his original Doctor Strange series back in the sixties.
Brendan McCarthy is responsible for the story and artwork and the artwork certainly compliments the many dimensions visited by Doctor Strange, former Sorcerer Supreme. The graphic book is produced with glossy paper, which helps to enhance the artwork, and the book contains a reprint story taken from the 1965 Amazing Spider-Man King-Size Annual issue 2 which introduces the very first team-up between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange and, ironically, is illustrated by Steve Ditko! All comes together very nicely, which is what we've come to expect from Marvel.
Recommended for all Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and psychodelic artwork fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brendan McCarthy
