Peace of Mind
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm glad we got this surge protector...we had a smaller plug in protector with our previous tv, had a surge and the tv is now toast. I like that there is just one cord going to the plug now, and there is an actual breaker in the unit. Plus, it fits in our vintage italian 80's tv stand perfectly...was a bit concerned about that! All over a good buy, especially since we got it half-off.

Light is too bright
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's slim and helps organize all the plugs as well as protecting all your devices. What I do not like about it is the power indicator light it way too bright and it's always on. If you like to watch TV in the dark it can be very distracting.

Great investment to protect pricey av equipment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won’t ever connect a pricier setup without one of these higher end surge protection units. In the past, I’ve lost TVs to power surges ( and cheap surge protectors don’t give full protection. Price for this unit was perfect.

Easy to hook up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This surge protector was easy to install and takes up minimal space. The flat plug allows furniture to fit close to the wall without interfering with the plug. It is sized so that it fits in a stack with the Blu Ray player or other components and quietly does its job in the background. I have not experienced a surge or power failure since its install, but I feel confident that both the power and cable lines will be protected. The only caution that I have is that some larger power cords (power packs) may actually cover two outlets, so you may not get o use all 8 on this device without some creative engineering.

PANAMAX 8-OUTLET SURGE PROTECTOR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thank you again to our 'Tech Guru' Zach Anderson at our local Wetmore Rd., Tucson, Arizona BEST BUY store for recommending this PANAMAX 8-Outlet Surge Protector (black), Model #MR4000. We were unsure as to whether or not we needed to purchase a new surge protector for our new LG 86" NANO CELL TV, rather than just re-purposing the one from our old TV. But as always for us non-tech people, Zach's expertise and wisdom won us over once again. We are now experiencing the monsoon storms here in the desert southwest, including spectacular lightening and torrential rain, and when it is common to lose power. We no longer have to worry about 'frying' our new electronics, and can just enjoy Mother Nature's annual show!

Seems to be working.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess you don't know if it's working or not until disaster strikes-then it too late if it does not work. Easy to set up and install. Looks nice-I have it on a shelf above other components and route the cords up each side. If you invest in quality equipment, it only makes sense to protect it

Trusted Protection For My Valued Equipment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did I really NEED this, probably not. The power delivery in most countries provide stable electricity, and most power supplies in devices can handle the minor fluctuations that do occur. On the other hand, my computer equipment holds a lifetime of memories, my sound system is a decent investment, and I really like taking care of the gear I have. Panamax/Furman is a trusted name in power protection, and the MR-4000 had the slim profile I needed for my computer desk. The 8 outlets were more than enough for my desktop audio and other peripherals that didn't need a UPS, but I also use small APC UPS for my computer and internet devices. The only con I can think of is that the Power On light in the front of the unit is very bright and can be distracting. But extremely minor, and can be remedied or ignored. Conclusion: Slim profile. Solid build. Great value when you don't need UPS or other advanced features, but just want trusted power protection.

Q: QuestionI have a Panamax - MR 4000 and a red triangle light has come on. What does that mean? Thanks.
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer If it is the one on the right that looks like an outlet it means that there is a fault in your line. The one on the left that looks like a caution sign means that their is an unsafe voltage and it disconnected power to protect your equipment.

Q: QuestionWhat is the best recommendations for TV protection by a surge protector?
Asked by Sorce.
- A:Answer If you are only plugging in a tv and nothing else and your outlet is really close to the back of the tv I would recommend the panamax mfp-300 for being designed to hide behind your tv if its wall mounted but If you have more than 2 items I would go for the mr 4000 or the mr 4300

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference in surge protection between the 8, 9, and 11 outlet surge protectors? If I have less than 8 items plugged into the system, does the 8 outlet offer me the same protection?
Asked by Bigfoot.
- A:Answer No if you are referring to their larger units they have more advanced protection than the mr 4000 such as better power filtering. If you have some what high end audio components such as power amps or subwoofers than the mr 5400pm would be a nicer option with power banks allowing you to have more power when you music calls for it without harming your gear. If you have some bookshelf speakers that are not crazy expensive like I do I went for the mr 4000 because its smaller and more compact and still gave me my AVM and power filtration as well. If you have less than 8 you can still use all of their lineup regardless if you have less devices plugged into them.
