Smallville first aired on the WB, now CW, when I was 13 years old. From that moment on I was hooked. I spent ten long years watching as farm boy Clark Kent slowly transitioned to the world's greatest hero, Superman. And when Season 10 came to a close I thought the series had as well. It was bittersweet yet saddening. And, like countless other fans, I wanted more. I wanted to see Clark going about his life as Superman. Fortunately, I got my wish.

Smallville Season 11 picks up only a few months after the TV series finale and drops you right back into the middle of Clark Kent/Superman's world as he has fully embraced his destiny. But alas, with Superheroes come Supervillains and Lex Luthor is as vile as they come. The memories from all ten seasons and his life previously have been wiped from his memory. Yet, he still maintains the same diabolical, calculating and despicable personality that the Man Of Steel's nemesis has always been known for.

Our hero's journey continues! So, if you loved the show make sure to pick this up because once you read it you'll be transported right back into the world of Smallville...and you will believe a man can fly!

I'm a huge SMALLVILLE fan and was very sad when the show went off the air nearly 7 years ago. I got into the saga of Superman through a short lived 90s show called, "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." I completely fell in love with the epic story of the title characters and the pure nature of Clark Kent. I'm not a comic book fan, to say the least, but when I heard season 11 was on in the form of a comic I had to read on and what an exceptional read! I'm looking forward to the next book, which I downloaded, and the continuation of Superman vs. Lex Luthor and Lois & Clark's epic story.

Of course, it's not the real comics Superman, but I had fun with the further adventures of Smallville. I wish all comics extending TV shows or movies could do as well.
Clark comes back six months after the show ended, having defeated Darkseid and Apocalypse. People are beginning to react to the superhuman in their midst.
Lex comes back without memories, and full on evil, although he masks it as concern about aliens.
Includes Lois Lane, Green Arrow and Chloe.
Art is fair for this time in comics.

The necessity to do a realistic art style. Looking at om od the covers of this comic, on may assume it would be wiser to use some of those cover artists for the interior art, or some colorist that may have enhanced the work, but as a product of its time, the color feel early photoshop, instead of an interesting mix of brushes or more traditional comic line work like the covers. I know this was focused for TV series fans, not comic fans, but some of us are fans of both, even if in it's first digital outing this was kind of on the cheap. It feels like an interesting transmedia exersice that could been better with the right art direction. But let's see the next volume.

I'm a huge Smallville fan, it's what got me into comic books and predominately Superman stories.

Let's not forget that Smallville started out as a High School Drama set in the DC universe. And it was the depth of the characters and their episodic struggles that really warmed them to you. Coupled with the fact that there were superpowers and great special effects it was a really enjoyable show that lasted 10 whole seasons. A measure of a bona fide hit in that day and age. (And it's the reason Arrows pitch was listened to and the pilot created. And we wouldn't have Flash, Supergirl etc if not for Smallvilles success.) It knew it's audiences demographic and that audience all had there favourite actor, actress or plural to pine over.
The problem (and it's a small one) is when the medium changed from television serial to comic book. It's difficult to capture all the things that made the show great on live action film, with a two dimensional drawing, no matter how good the artist is. Something that the creators realised when they attempted to differentiate the TV series and the comic books by changing the name from Smallville Season 11, to just plain old Smallville.
However judge it on its comic book format and it's good, judge it as a spin-off with a rich history of some 220 plus episodes and it's well worth the money.
