- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2023This is the level of care and devotion to quality storytelling that comics should aspire to. I did not want to put it down and kept going until it was over. The mystery, the high stakes, the drama, and the way Supergirl comes into her own are perfect. Her demeanor and her loyalty to her friends and her overall character make her someone you can easily like, care for, and worry about despite her incredible abilities and main character immunity. Awesome job
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2021What a great exploration of Kara’s teen years! This is the best of the many versions of Supergirl. Ms. Tamarind and Ms. Jones are a stellar team.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2022Jones art is great. The story is slow, the color is wrong. They made 200 pages when they could’ve told the story in 20-30 pages

5.0 out of 5 stars All 4 books in one volume
This is a very nice story and collects all 4 books into an esthetically pleasing single volume. What else can one say in a review about this book - we all have different tastes. ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Supergirl: Being Super: 2020 Edition
Kara Danvers is about to turn sixteen. Her major problems in life are a megazit on her chin and hiding the fact that she's an alien with superpowers from everybody around her. And then her secret is out there. A mysterious earthquake in Midvale kills her best friend and leaves her exposed, her powers gone and a sports coach who seems to know what's gone wrong.
This is a great origin story. Everything fits into a timeline that makes sense. Kara's story neatly coincides with the emergence of Superman in Metropolis, meaning that she literally knows nothing about herself except that she is loved by her adopted parents and she can do things that noone else on Earth can do. The artwork is nicely tinged with blue and the lines grow stronger as she moves closer to learning the truth about herself. This is a book about growing up and feeling different and, as such, would be ideal reading for teenagers.

It was amazing. It was also kind of weird at the same time. It is perfect for a 10 year old and above
