I bought this set because I wanted to add a fun and different piece to my lego starwars collection. This was the perfect choice as BB-8 is an iconic Star Wars character and he brought a nice brightly coloured touch to the collection. The build was quite challenging and towards the end got too repetitive for my liking. I also found that when I placed him on the stand he would never fit perfectly and when he did a bit broke of this was very frustrating. All in all though I love this set and I think it is worth the money I highly recommend this set.

The BB 8 lego set is awesome I got it during Force Friday at our local store. I got home and built it right away it took me about 4 hours he has some awesome features like moving his head and sticking his lighter thumb out. Very well worth the money. It's my first lego set in a few years and I'm back on the lego train!

This one is awesome

This is a set I was very excited to get, having seen the images of it I loved the fact that you get a stand and a spec sheet sticker like the UCS sets, I think these really finish off a set nicely.

The box was bigger then I expected and it came with 6 numbered bags, the build was very enjoyable and it was a lot more intricate then I thought it would be, the amount of mechanisms inside this build are very fun to make and none of it was boring or repetitive, even the outer shell of BB-8, each side is built slightly differently. The build tool me roughly 3 hours and wasn't especially challenging but some parts were quite fiddly and require a fair amount of pacience.

This set comes with some awesome functions, there are parts which you can turn on each side, one which makes the head turn around and the other makes the lighter thumbs up come out of the front, when you turn them it is a very smooth process and all moves very freely. It also feels like a very strong and solid build and you don't need to worry about carrying it around.

You get a smart looking display stand and a spec sheet which is a really nice addition and doesn't take too long to build (not as long as some other stands like Slave 2 or TIE Fighter), you also get a minifig of BB-8 to go on the stand.

I would definitely recommend this set to any Star Wars fan as it's an awesome build, looks fantastic and has cool play features and can work as a nice display piece, (it would also look awesome if you have the UCS R2D2!)

Superb!!!

I bought this one so I could have both R2-D2 and BB-8. It was definitely a good investment. It was a lot of fun to build. There was almost no repetition. It would have been awesome if it was able to roll.

Overall, I love it.

Great Value for a Star Wars UCS

Loved this build, the internals were a bit tricky and I had gone wrong at one point took a few looks at the book then the piece to see how or where I had gone wrong.

The outer shell was a bit repetitive as others had said but still enjoyable, it's surprised me sometimes how these Lego engineers do it I would never of got it if I was sat with a big tub of Lego and had to design the first!

Included a picture of wall-e with bb-8! Hope they know the rules for chess!

Bb-8 awesome Lego set!

Ok, so first the build is a bit repetitive, but it's a sphere, so that should be no surprise. The interior mechanism for the moving parts was very impressive and satisfying. The play features are right on point. I really appreciated the layering technique used to achieve the spherical shape. I was very happy with the final result.

BB-eautiful

This was my first ever lego set bought for me as a present and as soon as I seen it I couldn't wait to get building, the whole building process is so enjoyable and satisfying, the building process was not difficult at all because the instructions are very clear and the final result is amazing.
There isn't really anything that could make this set better apart from mabye lights and sounds. 
The only minor thing I think could be changed about this is that there could be some attachment to the door on the front to close it when you wind back the welding torch but it's not really anything major and the set itself is still amazing. 
I would 100% recommend this to anyone do not hesitate to buy it looks great and is great value for money.
