A: Yes, the tablet works just fine without being connected to cellular. You will need to be connected to WiFi if you want to surf the internet or get mail though. I would suggest not checking bank statements and other sensitive websites when connected to public WiFi hotspots, I.e. Starbucks or McDonalds.

A: Basically yes. You would also have access to the internet when not on WiFi and would be using data on a cellular plan. If you don’t need that you can save money by purchasing a tablet that does not support cellular data connection via data plan.

A: The 2 year contract is for the Cellular Data Plan. This particular iPad is WiFi and Cellular. It will normally operate on WiFi, but when no WiFi signal is available and/or to be more secure when browsing the internet you will need to use a Cellular data plan to connect to the internet.
