one solid pad

Familiarity:

Size Bought:

Used one for 1700 mi in 2022, and 700 mi more in 2023. Hard use, on AT. The same pad is going back out this year. No problems with this puppy. I have always kept something under it on my tent floor for protection. First it was the classic partial car sunshade leftovers after making a pot cozy. Then I got gossamer gears thinlight long pad. That turned out to be just the ticket to put under this crinkly sometimes noisy sleeping pad. The thin foam pad under it kept it stationary and kept it from making noise on the tent floor and that was fabulous. Easy to blow up, easy to put down. I just roll it up and put it in the same bag with the rest of my sleeping system. The funny thing is I bought an extra one for when this one gets a hole and I'm wondering why I ever did that. I did find that when I haven't used it for a few months that it was important to blow it up once, let it empty and then blow it up again the first time I used it. Apparently having just a little moisture inside the valve helps it to seat properly. Otherwise I have had no issues at all. I didn't know a pad could behave so well.

Hole formed after ~10 uses

Unfortunately, developed a small hole and deflates over 60% after a full night.

Frontcountry comfort inn the Backcountry

Comfy size but still lightweight. Great for backpacking but with more of a car camping luxury feel.

I used this pad on my 2023 AT thru-hike SOBO and it kept me warm and well off the ground. It never leaked, but it was pretty noisy if you toss and turn at night. Decently comfortable as well.

Great Sleeping Pad

I've only used it on one weekend backpacking trip so far, but it's light and pretty confortable. And the new Winglock valve makes for quick and easy inflation/deflation. Also a really solid R-Value. I wasn't cold at all and was in temps in the 30s-40s at night.

The only knock on the

The only knock on the older version was the potato-chip-bag noise it made whenever I moved. They fixed it. No more noise. Plus it’s warmer. Total winner

Kept me warm

Overall good product. It kept me plenty warm when paired with my camping quilt in low 40s weather. My top two complaints would be how slender it is, I’m by no means a big guy but my shoulders hung off on both sides. Number 2, it’s very slick, I found myself slipping off of it anytime I moved at night. As far a comfort goes, it held its air all night, and I didn’t get cold, and that’s what matters most.

Very comfortable

Top notch sleeping pad. I’ve taken it on a a few weeklong backpacking trips already and it’s been great. It’s a little bigger to pack than some of the competition but the comfort and warmth make up for it. I was scared of the butterfly nozzle but it allows for a lot of adjustability. I do worry about the durability of the bottom size I sleep under a tarp but it’s help up so far.

Good pad.

Work good, I would say its a little narrow for my needs, I am not a big guy, 5'8" 180 lbs but would prefer something a little bit wider. easy to fill and held air all night. Ground was cold, wet, and snowed after set up. Felt no cold from the ground with outside temps overnight in the 20 degree range

The pad is excellent. I’ve used it twice and been highly pleased with both the low noise level and comfortable feel. The weather during the second use was cool, and I didn’t feel any of that through the pad. I’m looking forward to trying it in some cold temperatures in the coming weeks.
