When THM decides to make a product, it usually goes straight to the top of the class, so it's no surprise that there is a lot more to their Mandibula 25mm Offset Carbon Seatpost than first meets the eye. Of course, it is astoundingly light at a claimed 159 grams, despite being a good length, but THM set out to design a post that is both light and comfortable without compromising pedalling efficiency.

Unlike other comfort seatposts, the Mandibula doesn’t flex more with taller, heavier riders, thanks to its dual-zone carbon layup construction: the power zone is super stiff and won’t flex no matter how far it sticks out of the frame whilst the comfort zone provides the controlled flex so all riders benefit whatever their weight or height. Equally impressive is that the post flexes in such a manner that the saddle remains horizontal at all times rather than tipping backwards under load. This helps with power transfer and pedalling efficiency. Furthermore, with a total load rating of 110kg, it isn’t just the preserve of 50kg pro cyclists, but can be enjoyed by normal riders too. THM even suggests that it can be used for MTB, gravel and cyclocross as well as road riding.
